The texture is very smooth, much faster then other cloth pads like the qcK or goliathus control. While fast, the mouse doesn't slide around much and stops quickly when let go, an excellent texture for those who need both precision and speed. On a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is a smooth plastic hard pad and a 10 would be something highly textured like the goliathus control, I give it a 6 in terms of speed.
Very standard size for full table mousepads, not much to say here.
The surface is very much as advertised. When tested there was a little dampness leftover on the surface, but it pales in comparison to how bad a spill it could have been. Makes maintenance very easy, however the bottom and edge can still get wet, so if you do spill, it's wise to clean the table as well.
The Edge & grip:
It's important to note that the edges of mousepad do go off of the surface of the pad a bit, rubbing against your wrists. This isn't a problem if you keep your wrists planted or away from the edges, but it's something to keep in mind. This problem can be remedied by having the bottom of the pad hang off the edge of the table, but its clearly not how it was intended it be used. On the bright side, they are very sturdy and I'm not afraid of putting it in the wash. The grip on the bottom is very goliathus-esque however, out of the box it does not have the same adhesiveness to the table that something like the QcK does. I imagine as the mouse pad uncurls this problem naturally will solve itself.
Looks very sharp, not overstated, but not boring to look at either.
4 stars for everything stated previously -1 for the edge being so intrusive on an otherwise perfect deskmat.
After about 1 month of use the edge of the stitched edge started to fray a bit, which I cleaned with a lighter. The edge is a lot softer and less intrusive now that it's been broken in. The left side of the mousepad is still slightly raised from the packaging, so I decided to put a bunch of books on top of it. Still a 4 star review, but once the edge of the stitching is broken in, it seems that it's far less abrasive then it used to be.
What I didn't expect was it to be so very large. Although it was comical at first. I liked it right away since I now have a padded surfaces to place my phone.
There is one edge that hasn't rally smoothed out very well. Also, even though the scorpion logo is flipping boss it seems to be cheaply printed out on the mouse pad itself. So I'm curious to see how long it lasts without pealing.
Before I was using a trading card game playmat as my mouse pad but I was having many issues with the sensor picking up my movements. Now it's very smooth.
I had to say, I'm very pleased with it over all. My only complaint is the scorpion logo. I'm afraid of it peeling off after a month or so.
It's very thick, and the water resistant cloth is good. Enough for you to leave your room and grab a towel or something.
I'd recommend the smaller model to people simply looking for a nice, sturdy mouse pad.
I'm bumping this from a 4 to a 5 because I have spilled many liquids on this (accidents!) and they clean off so well. The one edge has smoothed over a little bit more than when I first got it. And the logo hasn't even peeled considering how much it mess with it.
It's a pretty good mat. I would still suggest a smaller one for people with smaller desk spaces.
About the mouse pad, it pick up signal very nicely on par with other gaming mouse pad, but the drag/slide is a little on the rough end. No where as bad as a generic mouse pad, but it is cloth in the end. Compare to a hard surface mouse pad there's a noticeable difference. Given no one use hard surface mouse pad anymore unless you are in competitive gaming, so I might be harsh on the review. The top mouse pad currently is Razer Goliathus Alpha Mouse Mat, which I happen to own and while there's a difference between them, but the difference is very slim. Both precise on signal/pick up, the Razer is a little smoother, and Aukey create more drag. In the end this is not just a mouse mad! This is a mat with multifunction, and it is dirt cheap for what it does. I recommend it if you can use the space.
The thickness thing is a complaint because I'm used to using a really thin mouse mat where I can have my keyboard half on/half off. That wouldn't work well with this Aukey one as the board will likely wobble.
