Next best thing to Bluetooth transmitters

After weeks of being teased by my husband for playing music on my phone instead of the radio I finally got this product. Our car's audio jack doesn't work so I couldn't get a Bluetooth transmitter like I wanted. However, this little thing is the next best thing! It even has a USB port so I can charge my phone while it's playing music. It was easy and quick to set up and if the sound ever becomes less clear it's easy to find another station and get it started. I would highly recommend it.

Maybe I have a defective unit? But I don't think so. The volume is way too quiet and if I turn my volume on the radio loud enough to be decent, then when I change stations to not use this device, the volume blows my ears out.

How I tested. Set radio volume to a normal listening level on a radio station. Also testing this same head unit volume with a tape adapter wired to my phone as the source with my phone volume near maximum for all testing. Same speaker volume output for both the radio and my tape adapter. 2 cars tested, 2 phones tested as my baseline. I then tried this FM transmitter at multiple frequencies across the range to see if that made a difference. 1 car has an external antenna on the back and 1 car has a close antenna on the front. Both cars had very low volume using this FM transmitter even if I maxed out the source phone volume.

Unless it has some defect that causes low FM output power, this just won't work for me. I also noticed the output sound quality isn't as good as my tape deck adapter wired to my phone. I just got this because I am adding a car that doesn't have a tape deck and I would rather not get a non-factory head unit and it doesn't have an AUX input stock.

Oh, and the LED display on this is the very old school display and so the LED segments not lit are almost white, making it hard to read the frequency during the day. Looks great at night. The good thing is it keeps the frequency. And you shouldn't have to change the frequency often even during long distance travel.

This radio transmitter does everything advertised, and it does it well. The transmitter connects to your phone or mp3 player via 3.5mm audio jack, which is convenient, and leaves the charging port open for situations like long road trips (pre-iphone7, at least), where you have to have a navigation app open but still want to play music. The adapter also comes with a usb port built in, so if you have only one cigarette lighter in your car like I do, you can still charge your phone.

The only problems I see people having with this device are with the long wire, and some interference. If the wire bothers you, I would suggest going for a bluetooth transmitter, which is wireless, but may cause faster battery drain in your phone, and may experience more interference. If you are experiencing static, I would suggest simply changing the radio station until you find an open frequency for the area. If you find an open frequency in your local area, you probably won't experience any problems until you head into the range of a different radio station. Interference could become a problem on road trips though, but that is the nature of all radio-transmitter devices. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this product, and would buy it again!

Better Than Expected.......

Does a decent job of playing the music from my iPhone over the air. It goes in and out a lot however so I'd have to adjust the cord. Very nice to also be able to speak to people over the radio. Not as pressed to have my headphones with me. Hands-free is great. Just wish I could make the transmission stronger though.

I have to say that after giving it another try, it does a pretty banging job. I do a lot of driving so it's very convenient to have the ability to speak through the speakers. Was debating on buying a radio to charge and have the option to speak through the speakers but this works just fine. The usb option to plug in your cord for charging is also convenient. I realized that trying more of the stations allows you to find the one that would be better suited. I tried stations that were lower on the spectrum and still had too much static. Once I tried a higher station, it really made a world of a difference. Well worth the money. Boosted it to 4 stars.

With COVID, I am doing less driving, so I'm putting less wear on this item than I have on other automobile FM transmitters I've tried. A couple of others I've tried either broke or had a signal that didn't quite quell background static. This one works better for both problems so far as I've used it in the last month.

My routine is to plug it into the cigarette lighter, use it while traveling, then pull it out and stow it out of sight while parked. So the plug-end has to be sturdy enough to stand up to that, and this one has. It also appears to be more solid than other's I've used, so I expect it to continue to stand-up to my routine.

The other plus is that it provides a good, clean signal, no static, on an unused local frequency, and does that better than the others I've used. It was easy to set-up.

The length of the cord is a minus for me (too long, so have to store it), but for someone else, it might be a plus.

For some reason it seems very difficult to make these transmitters work right but Aukey has it down it seems. This is the second one I bought for my second vehicle because the first one worked so well. It's very simple to work and the connection always seems to be strong with very minor white noise. Would buy again.

This transmitter is fantastic. It legitimately took me 30 seconds to set up and start using. Simple enough for a monkey to use. It's compatible even with my 3 year-old junk phone, and the quality is just wonderful. Sounds exactly the same as if I were listening to any other radio station. And it has a USB port on the plug-in thing, so I can charge my phone while it plays music! The cords are the perfect length for the folks in the front seats. The backseat might be stretching, but who cares?! The only thing left is to see if this thing will withstand the test of time. I plan on treating it gently anyways, so I think it will work out great! I'd buy a hundred if I needed that many.

Seller and amazon both denied the return request even though the product under return/claim scheme/policy. I lost my money to purchase this useless item and I will definitely take a legal action against Amazon. I purchased it after the confirmation from Amazon that I can return the same in any condition. After getting the product I found quality and incompatibility issue and I raise a return request. Several times I called to amazon CC and higher-ups but nobody take responsibility to refund my money.
It's very panic for me to keep this item without any use. Moreover, I have all the evidence to file a complaint against amazon.
