Very nice mirror and works nicely in my daughters 2000 Nissan Xterra, however, knowing what I know now, I would have purchased a wired version.
I purchased a wireless mirror to save headaches during the install, unfortunately it created additional headaches. The install started out fairly smooth, then I realize that the transmitter for the camera needed to be mounted inside the car. I had to run the wire from the camera inside the vehicle instead of the tail light reverse wire. Then I had to run the wire back out to the tail light. Normally not a big deal, but in my vehicle I had to remove the whole interior panel (If I was going to do that, it wasn't much more work to install a hard wired camera). Then I installed the mirror. It was very easy to clip on and held on much more securely than I thought it would. I then ran the wire across the headliner and down the A pillar, down under the dashboard pretty easily. Once plugged in, it appeared to work ok, so I took the truck for a drive. That's when I realized that sometimes it didn't come on when I put the car into reverse. To overcome that, I just had to press the on/off button on the mirror and it would come on. Not that big of a deal, but.........then I started driving and the mirror would randomly search for a signal and show a blue screen every minute or two. This was HIGHLY annoying, so that would mean that she would have to unplug the power from the mirror and plug it in when needed!! Obviously not acceptable.
I figured out a way to make it 100% reliable and work as it should. I realized that if the camera and the mirror got power at the same time, it always made a connection, and if it didn't get power when not in reverse, it wouldn't randomly search for a signal. To correct this, I needed the mirror to get power at the same time as the camera, so I ran another power wire from the mirror wiring to the reverse light power. To accomplish this, I had to pull all the panels off from the front of the car to the back! At this point it would have obviously been better to go with the wired camera in the first place. As far as performance, I like everything about it, except that there is a good amount of signal distortion. It seems to mostly be caused by Bluetooth signals. If I shut Bluetooth on the phone, the signal clears up substantially (still not 100% perfect all the time), but unfortunately she needs Bluetooth to hook up to the speakerphone, so she has to live with a less than perfect signal. It's still a decent picture, but if it was hard wired, I think that the picture would have been phenomenal!
Overall, I am happy with the purchase, I am just a little upset at the wireless performance, and the fact that I had to run an additional power wire for it to work correctly. I'm also upset that I expected the install would be less than an hour and it wound up being 3hrs!
Even with all the negatives I think it was a good purchase, and my daughter likes it!
