The arms came quickly with Prime and are very well packaged with each individual piece being wrapped in plastic all within a well padded box. There was no damage to the box or the item itself, so that was great!
Setup was fairly simple. It comes with all of the tools you will need for setup and the arms are already put together. All you really have to do is attach the plates to the back of your VESA monitors, then attach the desk clamp to the arms and then to the desk and voila, you're done! A great feature of these arms that also makes them very easy to setup is the quick release monitor attachments. Once you have put the backplates onto your monitors, there is a piece that sticks slightly out of the plate and you slide that into a small opening at the end of the arms simply by pushing the lever back and sliding the monitor in, then the lever pops back holding the monitor in place. This is ideal for quick removal of the monitor for any periodic cleaning of the monitor or if you need to adjust any of the tension on the arms without worrying about the monitor being in your way or getting damaged.
**-2 points from an otherwise simple process was due to one caveat I had during setup. I absolutely could not get the tension bolt to budge. This is the bolt shown in the 4th Amazon product image that you turn counter/clockwise to adjust how much weight the arms can hold properly depending on your personal monitor's weight. It comes from the factory on the lowest level of tension (at least it did in my case), so I had to rest the monitor on the table while connected to the arm because it couldn't hold it up. I was twisting that allen wrench with all my might (I am an athletic built 6"2 190lb man) and I could feel the allen wrench starting to bend under the torque pressure I was applying to it and it still wouldn't budge. So I grabbed the arm under my bicep/armpit and pulled it towards me while twisting the allen wrench away from me to create some extra torque and eventually it seemingly broke some sort of seal and freed itself FINALLY! I think it was something like a soda bottle cap, where the first time you open it you really need to twist the cap to break the plastic teeth's seal, then it screws on and off easily. This was the same thing, once I broke that invisible seal or whatever the manufacturer did on the bolt, I was able to tighten and loosen it as you would expect with little effort. Very strange design, I have no idea why it would be like that. I was extremely worried I was going to have to return it because it would not hold up my monitors. But now that I (muscled) figured that out, all is well! So be prepared to have a tussle match with these arms during first-time setup. But besides that, setup was a breeze.
Build Quality: 9/10
These arms are an extremely solid metal build that can hold up most modern monitors with ease. I have never had any fears as to whether these will last a long time or if they can hold my heavier monitors properly. Great quality arms to say the least.
Now for the actual usage of the arms. Once you have dialed in the tension for your monitors and get everything adjusted suitably for your needs, these arms are really outstanding. They adjust in every imaginable angle and direction with ease. You can tilt them sideways or up and down, move them back and forth (towards/away from you), and adjust the height. Because these arms don't have a vertical pole like some of the more expensive arms, I was very worried there wouldn't be enough length to pull the arms towards me while also having adequate height adjustment. Because normally the higher you have the arms the less length you have to work with moving the monitors closer to you. My desk is 24" wide and these arms can easily reach right up to as close as I'd like them to be to my face, all without sacrificing any height adjustments I need. They move around very smoothly with little effort which is great when I am constantly switching between sitting and standing at my desk. The arms do need to stick out behind your desk if you want to have them further away from your face, so you will have to leave a sizable amount of space between your desk and the wall to be able to move them back towards the wall.
Also for those worried about maneuverability with two 27" monitors side by side, fear not! Unlike most other dual arm monitor mounts that claim to hold 27" monitors, these arms have plenty of length to allow adequate space between each monitor so you can angle them inward, while still being close to your face. Multiple other dual monitor arms I have tried in the past would only allow for 27" monitors to be next to each other all the way back towards the wall and being perfectly set side-by side with no no slack for adjustments to be made. So before these arms, I was using two separate single monitor arms that were at different mounting points along the back of my desk. These new arms have all the same maneuverability of my old method in one package without all the fuss.
Cable management was another thing I sort of had to fiddle around with to get working properly. The cables are fed through two separate channels within the arms and are covered by a black plastic cap. The upper cavity for the wires has plenty of space where you can fit pretty much as many or as thick of cables as you please. However the 2nd lower cavity for the cords has much less room and as such may seem impossible to use at first. My cords would constantly be popping the cap off every time I moved the monitors because of the tension the cords would make against the cap. All I had in each cavity was a monitor power cord (heavy duty, so it is kind of thick) and an average displayport cord. What I realized I had to do was sort of stuff each cord up between to two clip ports and then push them to left and the right so they they were not interfering with the clip to clip port insertion. After doing this, the cords stayed properly in place.
Pro tip: make sure you leave enough slack of cord outside of the cavities so that when you move your arm/monitor it does not constantly tear the cord out of your monitors, possibly damaging the cord/monitor.
These arms and the desk mount are painted a sort of faux sparkly silver color and have black accents throughout including the cable management covers. This color scheme will work for most office designs and is not an eyesore by any means. Having an all black option to help the arms blend in even more would've been a great feature!
The arms also come with a nifty little black plastic back plate that goes over the clamp which aids in wire management, but also has two holes for each allen wrench for convenient access should you ever need to make an adjustment to the arms tension (pictures attached for this feature).
Overall/Final Thoughts: 9/10
These arms are everything I was hoping they would be and more. While there were a few issues here and there, they were all things that could be fixed with some elbow grease. I am glad I ended up with these arms after all the research I did and would highly recommend them for anyone in the market for some quality monitor arms!
now for the arm, the material is not cheap, it's smooth aluminum with black plastic trim. the arm itself can be adjusted and is holding my 29" ultra wide Asus just fine - it weighs 18lbs. it can easily be rotated etc. I've posted pictures showing it in various positions and showing the silly screw cap covers. In most of the pics my monitor is in the highest position. Installation is easy... there are two options - one is a clamp that goes around the back of your desk while the other clamp drops through a hole in your desk. Monitor is very stable - doesn't really wobble much or anything. Some people are complaining that their stands wobble, but a lot of that is probably related to the desk they have it one, mine is heavy wood and thick steel pipes that I built so it's study.
It seems like this should be an easy fix and was an engineering oversight. I'll try a washer and just hope that the metal on the nut doesn't give out one day, causing my screen to drop forward.
Also, the lower cable cover arrived with the tabs to hold in place already snapped off.
That's two dings now.
Otherwise...it's a good, sturdy mount which holds its positions well. It has some refinements needed though.
