I've scanned though quite a few external battery chargers before decided to buy the RavPower based on the following reasons.

INEXPENSIVE:
This charger is fairly inexpensive at the price of $18. Most chargers like the mycharge charger with built in charger cost about 2-3 times more than this charger. You're paying extra for advertisement from those companies. Phones battery cases like one for an iphone 5 for example would cost around $50.

Quality Built:
It's inexpensive, but the there's quality control involved. Ravpower's headquarter seems to be in CA, US. The charging prongs felt quite sturdy flipping in and out unlike the chargepak I had from newtrent 6000. There's no flashlight built into this unit as the other reviewers mentioned. They kept the LED light at the very mininum and conserved the battery inside for charging your electronic devices instead, so there's only one very dim green LED while it's putting out charge. The minor downside for this unit is the power button; however, I don't think it will fail anytime soon. If they do, I'm sure that I can contact the 1-800 in the manual to get it taken care of.

Design:
I've had 3 other external batteries with a built-in AC adapter before. They were all huge and wouldn't very well designed IMHO. I like how it's flat, thin, and small. Because it's small, it stays on the wall because some heavy battery would just fall off. There are 2 ways to charger the battery, straight from the wall and with a micro usb cord. It's a back up to charge with a micro-usb cord, but I think this is quite unnecessary because the input voltage is from 100-240V, which means you can use this charger overseas. One additional reason that I like about this charger is the location of the USB port.

I am really satisfied with this product! It did exactly as the company said it would. I was able to charge my cell phone one full charge (100%) and to about 50% a second time. This was all on only one full charge of the RAVPower® Power Bank model # RP-PB10 . In my opinion, this is an excellent product and well worth the price you pay for the RAVPower power bank

Initially I thought this would be a great idea for multi-day camping and other excursions where a phone charger is not readily available. The first charge I attempted with this product boosted my phone from 20% to 45% before crapping out. I have since tried it again and it has been able to take my phone from 20% battery life to a full charge in a little under 3 hours. Not the rapid charge I am used to, but for the circumstances of its use it does work fairly well. One thing I have not been able to try so far is how many charges of my phone I can get on one charge of this device. I will hopefully be able to try that out soon and update my review. On a scale of 1-10 I would give this product an 8. It works well for its purposes but takes a long time to charge up and a long time to charge the phone.

I'm not using it in the traditional sense, though it seems to work fine for that. I'm using it as a UPS for a Raspberry Pi mini-computer. The great part about this particular battery pack is that it can supply power to something and be charged itself at the same time. I've had one running on my Raspberry Pi at home for probably a year now, and another at work for a lesser period of time, and they both work great. Bought this one from Amazon to use for another Raspberry Pi for other purposes.

The only down side for what I'm using it for is that the built-in internal power supply doesn't provide enough output to run the Raspberry Pi. I have had to use a beefier power supply (1-2 amps) and run it to the microUSB input jack on the unit. Maybe not so much a down side as a "would be nice if..." You may also need to get better microUSB cables if there are any problems...check out the Kopi branded ones you can find here on Amazon...very heavy gauge wires as far as such cables go.

I received my RavPower Dynamo on the go a few weeks ago. I have used it to charge my iphone and my wifes android phone. Charging them worked flawlessly. The iPhone did take a little longer than expected to charge, but that was alright. I was just was doing a test charge and did not need it charged up quickly at the time, but going forward, it is best to use as an overnight charger for an iPhone. I also used it to charge my Acer Iconia A500 and my wife's Kindle Fire. The box that it comes in states that it can be used with "iPad / iPhone / iPod / Most Cell Phones & Other Mobile Devices" My experience would prove otherwise. The acer Iconia drained and heated up the little guy in about 15 minutes and gave only a 5% boost in power. The kindle fire went on for a very warm 25 minutes and gave a 15% boost in power. Sadly, I could not recommend this for tablets at all. Aside from the very small amount of power you get, I fear that this thing gets way to hot. The box does clearly state that it has a 2800mAh battery. I have worked with electrictronics for many years and knew that a 2800mAh would buckle if put to a tablet, but the claim that it can be used on an iPad was worth a shot nonetheless. I still would recommend this as a back up to a charging cable. Works great albeit a little slow, but well worth $20 they are asking and if you can get it on prime all the sweeter. A must have for anyone who uses their phone a lot or travels a lot.
