The AXIS PB-3 power blender is red, has a 3 hp motor and a 64 fl. oz. jug container, and is suitable for blending, grinding, and pulverizing ingredients to make soups, smoothies, and other foods. The jug container has a rubberized snap-on lid and is made of polycarbonate for impact resistance. The four-piece cutting blade assembly and shaft are made of stainless steel for corrosion resistance and contain ball bearings for resistance to friction and wear. The speed adjusts from 1,700 to 27,000 rpm for precise blending. The blender weighs 13.2 lb.

Top Customer Reviews
1) The plastic "stirring rod" has a small void in the mold of the handle. This manufacturing defect indicates that the handle is (potentially significantly) weakened and risks breaking/shattering when subjected to the forces exerted upon it from the user's grip and the blender during use. This is dangerous.
2) The heavy-gauge power cord has been *cut* during the manufacturing process, splitting the insulation and exposing live wires to moisture and/or human contact. This is of course HIGHLY DANGEROUS.
It is shocking (no pun intended) that the second (or really both of them) could have passed even a cursory QA inspection during manufacturing. But, I assumed this may have been an anomaly, and allowed Amazon to ship me a replacement. Also, I emailed pictures of the damage to the Customer Service dept but also two manager/director employees within the Customer Service heirarchy at the MVP Group, the company that produces this Axis line/brand. I asked them if this was as disturbing to them as it was to me, or indicative of the build quality.
None of the three contacts at the company replied to my email, and when the replacement arrived from Amazon I was disappointed (but not altogether surprised) to find that while it didn't have the same defects, the rubber lid did not seal fully against the blender jar/jug, and while the "on/off" mode worked (the variable speed control did too, though it smelled of burning rubber, esp at higher speeds), the "Pulse" mode was COMPLETELY BROKEN. I don't know if the relay was bad, the switch was bad, etc. - and I have no intention of troubleshooting what at this point is clearly a worthless product line.
Amazon is taking back the replacement, I'm taking a full refund, and you might be advised to take your business elsewhere too.
