Product Description

The Badwater 1216 (AL-820) is built with a set rock maple neck, 2 EMG-designed Alnico humbuckers and a classic-style single cutaway design. The guitar’s rosewood fretboard helps deliver a warm, thick tone. The scale length is a traditional 24 3/4” for vintage punch. The 1216 comes with carefully distressed pickguard, tone and volume knobs, and anodized tuning machines, bridge assembly and strap buttons for a unique look and vintage feel.

I've had this guitar for 6 months. Let me just say, I am impressed. Overall this guitar performs a couple hundred dollars worth, above it's retail price. This is NOT a Gibson, so don't expect that, but I would definitely compare it with an Epiphone. Over-all quality is good. The Tuners are a little cheap, but honestly, throw some Grovers on, and it's no big deal. It is not set up out of the box, and does need some adjustment. The pick-ups are hot and heavy, and can hold sustain with no problem. I've run this through a few amps, with limited effects, and it sounds great, especially cranked through a half stack. Aesthetically, it's pleasing. It looks good, and gets compliments wherever I go. I have and will continue to recommend this brand to my friends. For those of us earning minimum wage, and wanting an instrument that performs, without sending us into debt. This fit's the bill.

I have the white distressed one and it plays great. They did a great job on the set neck, frets, and setup right out the
box - as the guitar plays fast with no buzzing and comparable to a much higher end ax. The electronics are cheap and there's no
shielding or any shielded wiring in the guitar. None! So expect some noise and micro feedback/ squeals at high distortion levels.
The pickups are wax potted and have a nice warmth - especially on the clean tones.
I am upgrading to an active pickup system which is worth it since the guitar plays great. The body also has quite a bit routing
for the wire channels making the guitar a bit 'chambered'. The tones are all there - classic LP honk on the bridge pick-up and that
sweet warm tone on the neck pick-up which some LP copies lack.
Great playing guitar and it's worth the bucks, and with adding some upgrades still keeps the total cost reasonable.

LOOK:
First of all the best selling point of this guitar is its finish. It is very professionally done looks great and feels nice. I get a lot of compliments on it.

HANDLING:
It was set up better than your average guitar but It did required a basic set up from my music shop after that it played perfectly.

SOUND:
It does have very nice and high quality pickups, however, I would recommend upgrading those simply because the guitar is worth it like another reviewer mentioned. The sound is extremely clean and it does come with potted pickups.

DURABILITY:
This is the only reason it will get a 4 star rating from me, The tuning pegs will require being replaced. They hold a tune well enough for a hobby player but not for a traveling professional and due to its cooper finish the tuning pegs will run you at least 100 dollars.

ALL IN ALL:
I love the guitar and It is my main one that I use for gigging, I did replace the stock pickups, get new tuning pegs and a strap lock system. For me a guitar needs character above anything else. I would rather play on a 50 dollar old guitar then a new 1000 dollar one that feels generic. It is a x factor but whatever it is that a guitar needs to be likable and fit you. This one did it for me and will probably do it for you, for quite a bit less than you would usually pay.

Bought it just before xmas. Nice tone, fast action, looks good. Finish is not perfect but very acceptable. Unless you are looking for flaws in the finish you wont see them. Good clean, warm, sounding pickups. Mines had a loose tone control knob and some fret buzz out of the box, but otherwise no issues. Local music store cleaned that right up. A keeper for sure.

I've owned this guitar for four years now. For the price it's a very nice solid guitar. The pickups are good but lots of feed back with high gain & distortion. A good set of pickups and this thing will be your new favorite guitar.
