This work is a fantastic achievement--it's not 'boo scares' and gore; it elicits a more primal horror, a discomfiture that sticks with the reader longer after the book is put down. In order to avoid blowing through it too quickly, I forced myself to stop reading yesterday. Then I finished it tonight.

Be sure to read it alone. On a cold night.

Great book in a great condition - good overall

The Abaddon is one of the most interesting Graphic Novels I have ever read. I am going to preface this by saying it is only one of two comics I have ever read that needs to be read a second time more than the first ( The other is Grant Morrison's The Invisibles"). The story follows an veteran Ter has he moves into an apartment with four crazy roommates.

The story quickly descends into the bizarre and horrific as Ter realizes he can't leave. I am not going to say anything else about the story as I do not want to spoil it however it is masterful. Furthermore the art is stunning. The only drawback of the book is it really leaves you wanting more however the nice thing is you will have it when you read it the second time around.

I am a big fan of Koren Shadmi's work (especially after I'd picked up one of his other works "In the Flesh" (check it out, its breathtaking). What I love about Shadmi's work in general is that he isn't content with working in an expected, conventional narrative. He really strives to push at the boundaries of story-telling. Also, his artwork is gorgeous. Take a breath, have some tea, curl up with The Abaddon. You won't be disappointed.

Strange, dark and unique - The Abaddon is a really great read. If you like comics that are a little more challanging and deep - and tackle some serious existential matter, you will like this one. Even though the story is pretty dark there's also a lot of funny moments. It really keeps you guessing all the way to the end.

The BEST graphic novel I've EVER READ! Seriously! It's cinematic, always intriguing and compelling. It's a sexy surrealist's masterpiece that grabs your gut, and tickles your balls. David Lynch should seriously adapt this as his next tv show instead of just rehashing Twin Peaks!

I read this as a web comic, it was an amazing adventure into the surreal and imaginative. Such a creative, mysterious tale. I loved the unique setting of the hotel and I also loved the colour palette used for the artwork. Breathtaking.
