Product Description

The Abba Patio 12' x 20' Heavy Duty Extra Wide Carport with Removable Sidewalls with 8 Legs, Beige has a 2 feet wider entrance than most carports. This gives you extra room to open the car door or gives you more storage space. This carport kit is also built with higher gauge steel than most carports. That means it is heavier and will stand up to the wind and weather elements better than other carports. And that's just the beginning! It also comes with removable sidewalls and rollup doors and has 8 sturdy wide 1.5 inch diameter poles. All assembly accessories are included. The heavy-duty bungee cords tightly secure the tarp cover to the frame. Foot pads are installed to the canopy legs for added stability and easy access to secure anchor points.

Abba Patio Extra Large Heavy Duty Carport with Removable Sidewall is NOT heavy duty.
2 out of 5 stars
Abba Patio Extra Large Heavy Duty Carport with Removable Sidewall is NOT heavy duty.
It took 11 days from the date of purchase to receive my carport. It was delivered in the manufacturer's box which was not secured but it arrived in good condition. The instructions are 100% in picture form which is a minor complication and an annoyance but I figured it out.The carport as a whole is a little better than light duty. The tarp is probably 8 mil but the manufacturer doesn't specify. A heavy duty tarp or canopy cover is 16 mil and these are not 16 mil. The canopy cover is secured to the frame with ball and string bungees which makes installation a little easier. The sidewalls are secured with the same cords that are used to hold the top canopy in place. The sidewalls connect to each post with Velcro. The tent stakes are very lightweight, smooth and do nothing to prevent movement of the carport during any sort of wind. I already had the carport secured to the ground but I wanted to prevent too much sway. When I unrolled the strings they sent I just shook my head. They are about 9 feet long and it's some cheap cotton thin rope. The worst part is that they only send FOUR pieces of worthless sting when there are EIGHT POLES that need securing. Anyways I attempt to install the anchor at an angle and because the anchors are so thin and short they literally cut through the dirt when they were under any sort of tension. In short, the tent stakes and cotton rope are complete junk and pose a serious danger to yourself or others if installed. They will be pulled out of the ground when the wind blows. Do not use them. The front and back doors unzip on either side and can be rolled up and secured in place. It takes two people to roll up the doors if you want it to look good or you can install some 1" PVC at the bottom of the door(s).The feet connect to the 1.5" poles with a bolt and nut which is good.Abba Patio Extra Large Heavy Duty Carport with Removable Sidewalls failed to make any part of this Carport heavy duty other than the poles but there too Abba failed. When the poles are put together, with a button clip that automatically pops into place when it's lined up, the is a TON of SLOP where the poles come together. I mean like 3 or 4 pieces of paper or more.In short this is at best a medium duty carport with the poles, clocking in at 1.5" being the only part of this carport that is better than my last carport but this Abba Patio Extra Large Carport with Removable Sidewall was also $100 MORE expensive. There is nothing included that will SAFELY secure this carport to the ground so that will be an additional expense.I do not recommend Abba Patio Extra Large Heavy Duty Carport with Removable Sidewalls. I do not see any pride in craftsmanship and the manufacturer obviously misrepresented its heavy duty nature. Read the most recent comments or do a search for "heavy Duty" within the question box above. You will see that I am not alone in my disappointment with Abba.___________________________________________________________________________________________Picture 1 shows one of my anchors which is an 18" length of rebar(not from Amazon)Picture 2 shows that the top cover hangs over the edges of the canopy meaning rain can't get in. Some other canopy covers only go from edge to edge which doesn't stop the rain.Picture 3 shows the tool free design of this canopy(except for the 8 bolts and nuts that secure the feet to the poles) which uses spring buttons that automatically lock into place when properly aligned.Picture 4 shows the canopy with the front door rolled up. I installed a 3/4" PVC electrical conduit at the bottom of the door that makes rolling up the front door/tarp so much easier. It's the little things like this that Abba doesn't think about. They simply are resellers out to make a buck that don't take pride in what they do.

Product was easy to put together. All the parts were in the box. The tarp was nice. It was wobbly without any stakes. We didn’t use the stakes that it came with. We bought some cement blocks and buried them and attached the legs to the blocks with cement screws. I think it will be plenty sturdy with that being done. It was a good deal for the price and what we need it for. I’m very happy with it so far (we’ve only had it up for a few weeks).

It was easy to set up, seemed to handle wind just fine, and then we had a strong wind. It was tossed past some 20 foot hedges, across the street, and into a neighbor's fence with tearing along the areas where the fabric rood met the frame. It was still usable at that point, I emailed the company and never got a reply. The second strong wind came along and our neighbor called us to warn us it was partially in the road. This time it was wedged in between some trees, bent to hell, with big rips in the cloth. We had to disassemble it in order to get it out from between the branches of the two trees and stop the ongoing wind from sending it into the the road again. We put 24"x24"x2" concrete patio blocks on the roof material to try to stop the wind from blowing it away and it ripped away, leaving the four blocks on the lawn, and us trying to wrangle the flailing material in the wind and rain.

I don't know what carport I would recommend, this was easy to set up and seemed great at first, but it's scary to think what would have happened to my car if it had been inside.

I've had this up in the side of my house for my boat for two years now in South Carolina. I'm impressed and would recommend it. It's just now starting to show some wear, the roof panel is getting thin and it has a few small tears here and there but overall it's held up great. We even had 5 inches of snow this winter, of course I knocked the snow off but it held it.

I was very pleased with it as soon as we opened it. Set up was super easy, with 4 people helping. The frame is very sturdy. I love how the ends roll up and down. We use it for a bunny barn and used PVC to make the sides roll up and down as well. We made the mistake of setting it up directly under a pine tree and the squirrels dive bombed it with green pinecones. The roof got holes in it, but I believe that was customer error. We replaced the top with greenhouse material and still use the sides. Love that the top tarp is separate from the sides, making the roof easy to replace. This a great option and was so much less expensive than most we looked at. Just don't use it directly under a pine tree 😀

Bought this back In November to store my hay in because last minute plans to bring horse home. Was a little concerned on its sturdiness. It to my husband and son few hours to assemble they put in the stakes that came with. My husband decided to buy the bigger ones but never got them on before the ground froze. So went into winter with only heavy tent type stakes. I was surprised with some of the winds we got this winter in upstate NY the tent held its own . Just lost of flapping oblong bottom edge until the snow built up around it , But unfortunately this last winds storm we had the stakes couldn’t hold and it went air bound luckily the tree line stopped it. Still surprised that for the most part it held up . We did incurred damage to 2 corner poles that bent but the tarp pieces held up except for the Velcro corners . Item Will work but my suggestion would be definitely purchase the bigger tie down stakes and put grommets in to replace Velcro straps and along the bottom edge has nothing to secure it down probably because your suppose to be able to lift sides but if your using it where sides don’t need to be brought up I would put grommets along bottom and secure it to a pipe or piece of wood. This spring when the ground thaws we will be doing the suggestions I gave. But it won’t be my hay storage just a place I can put my lawnmower and horse carts. So for the price, it is worth it. Just have to be mindful of the extra things that need to be done if you want it more secure or are in a windy area.

Good value for my money. Needed a temporary protected garage/workshop for my truck restoration project because the truck is just too big to fit into anything else. The size on this just fits the F350 crew cab long bed! about 2-3 inches to spare on each end :). I live on a hill top so took all the other authors suggestions to protect from wind. It really is a giant kite. I used four extra lines over the top tied to rebar stakes and swapped out the rather understated tent stakes that come with it for more substantial large tent stakes to hold each side pole to the ground. I also liked the idea from another customer to attach pvc pipe to the doors so I can easily role up the doors in nice weather.
Long and short of it, great product, easy set up, did all my modifications - set up and everything in one day.
