The story was good, though it was a little slow in the beginning. It is also filled with pop culture references. I am looking forward to see where this series will go.
WARNING: Whatever you do, never eat or drink while reading this book as it has hilarious (snarky) dialogues.
Title: Abducted, book 1
Author: Evangeline Anderson
Series: Alien Mate Index (AMI)
Type: Stand alone novel, no cliffhanger.
Characters: They are well though of and totally lovable. Ms. Anderson truly blew me away with her new series; I'm totally hook with it! I've died and gone to alien heaven; populated with Ms. Anderson's sexy and tall aliens and no only one race but twelve new alien races from her imaginative mind. I don't know where she finds them but WOW! It just doesn't get any better than this in the science fiction romance genre! I truly love science fiction and aliens, and will totally read anything with action and adventure, so when I can find all those elements in one book, I'm in kindle heaven!
Heroine: Zoe McKinley was a BWW strong female and very independent. She also was hilarious and snarky but in a good way. Zoe is what the races consider a Pure One and a La-ti-zal; which is a woman with special powers, but this powers do not develop while she was in Earth, maybe due to the Ozon layer. It is when she leaves Earth that she starts to feel it. The stuff she dealt with by being kidnapped is to die for. Like when she tried to use their version of a toilet omg...I laughed sooo hard I couldn't see due the the tears coming down my face and I almost pee myself. She went along with some of the thing going on but there were times she was like noway...nuh uh. Like when she needed to go in the shower/bath to clean herself even that she was scare of pools due to a bad experience in her past. She was very endearing and funny although sometimes a bit naive when it came to keeping herself safe.
Hero: Sarden de'Lagorn was a hybrid: half Vorn and half Eloim, two of the twelve races created by the ancient ones. Because of his color (red), his golden cat's eyes and his horns, Zoe thought he was the devil when she saw him in the station. He was a strong and dominant but surprisingly gentle sexy alien, especially with the females they choose and very protective of them. He found Zoe extremely attractive with her curvy BWW body. He's abducted her for a good reason. He'd do anything to save his sister even if that includes trading Zoe to take her place. He's trading her to a Tazaxx, a mud-man type of creature who likes to put very rare and one of a kind females on view like a zoo. He treats them well until he get bored and then auctions them to the higher bidder. Women like Zoe are highly sought after not only because she is a pure one but a rare La-Ti-Zal. They have several moments, intimate moments that will so get you hot but they never consummate anything until the end of the book. It's actually kind of funny how it plays out the seduction and so cute.
Sellah: had brown skin, black hair and golden cat's eyes. She was Sarden's half blood sister who was kidnapped by order of her cousin and sold to Tazaxx. Sarden's wanted Zoe to trade her for her sister.
Hurxx: Sarden and Sallah's cousin. A greed man who wanted to rule Eliom by himself. Without a queen as was the custom. Ordered the kidnapping and selling of Sallah.
Char’noth S’roth: Lead Commercian that looks kind of like dark blue worms with multiple limbs. They have pipping voices and look like a three feet tall centipede but they’re shrewd in business and almost always the first to exploit any kind of commercial situation. They had discovered that Earth, once a closed planet, was finally opening up due to the hole in the Ozone layer. Or as they put it, “ripe for harvest.”
Count Doloroso: a hybrid that is basically a human with a computer as a brain. The computer takes control and the human ceased to exist. He was the villain and wanted the La-ti-zals for breeding purposes in order to bring back his race. He is the last one of it. He reminds me of Two from "The brides of the Kindred". A malevolent half man half machine.
A. L.: or Al as Zoe called it was a ship's portable computer that could go with them to the space ports and help them by giving them vital information.
Nib-nibs: very intelligent, very small purple green monkey type of creature that was consider a delicacy in some space ports. They were very intelligent and were mildly telepathic. Zoe had three as pets.
Tazaxx: a wealthy Gord. His species weren't part of the twelve races seeded by the ancient ones. He could assume a type of mud-man shape (was able to take any kind of shape). They reproduced asexually by dividing itself.
Floosh: Tazaxx's Assistant. Not one of the twelve races. Zoe compare it to a kind of big piece of crap sliding around.
Gravex Grav N'gol: was a hybrid like Sarden. Half Braxian and half Vorn. He had a dusty blue skin color with black curled horns like a ram's, black hair and sharp fangs. He was a protector for females (kind of a bodyguard).
Teeny Kiv'orop: she was a twelve year old Thonilan girl. She had a pale, almost translucent sage green skin color, black hair and violet eyes.
Did I like this book? I didn't like it, I loved it!
Would I recommend this book? Yes but only for adult readers since it does contain some steamy love scenes.
Will I read other novels from this author again? Absolutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book!
Was I entertained? Yes! I was completely entertained. Once I started reading, I simply could not put it down. I laughed, I cried and several times, I even shook my fists or my head in anger, but by the end I was well pleased, satisfied and entertained.
My final verdict: Abducted and the AMI series are absolutely addicted. It has everything you would want in a syfy novel.
After I finished this book, I automatically wanted more leading me to buy and pre-order the next on in this series! YAY, so I just had to wait until it was sent to my kindle. This is a short review, I hope your not to upset about that.

P.S. And it definitely isn't a YA series.
