"Enlightenment Now: The Case for Reason, Science, Humanism, and Progress"
Is the world really falling apart? Is the ideal of progress obsolete? Without giving away any secrets ( even though i really really want too), I can tell you that you have never read an as well written, thought out, plotted out book as this one !! I'm not a Sci-Fi reader, I prefer paranormal romance as you can see by my usual reviews, but this book sucked me in and kept my imagination as well as my " could this really have happened meter pinging in the red zone " !! And that is a very hard thing to do. When The Kid/Tom, ultimately figures out what he believes really happened to him, his ex-wife, and current wife; it will blow your mind. If you are a child of the 70's & 80's as I am the references to books, movies and television will draw you even further down the rabbit hole ( see how I did that )!! If you are a lover of Star Trek, The Twilight Zone, and another great series of movies I can't name due to it being a huge spoiler, you will LOVE these combined books . It is a bit lengthy and will take more than one day to read it, but you will need that extra time to go "oh, now I've got it", just to find out that you've been maneuvered around ......Diana Page
Thomas L. Hay has not let me down! Every time I read his books, I'm transported back in time. His books are an escape from reality, but into a reality that still feels real. Because it is. In a way. But not enough to think it's all imagined either. Or is it? This is a readable ride into the unbelievably insane. You walk away in one of two states: Emotionally cracked, yet uplifted, with hilarity, or Emotionally confused, cracked with hilarity. I'm just saying...
The Comeback Kid is... BACK!, but things haven't improved for the better. He still can't seem to find his place in the world. He's lonely and in constant reflection, which brings back nothing but pain.
He's moving on to what brought about his memoirs of his most difficult, happy and frustrating days. Whether dabbling in IR relationships, singing karaoke, or up to the strangest of business, Tom is still not settled. He needs a place, a love and some peace of mind.
It's not till he's reached retirement, lost his mother and moved back home to Missouri, that he finds the mind blocks melted away, allowing him to find himself. His true self and an explanation to why he is who he is. IT's a story that leaves nothing to the imagination, because you aren't sure Hay has imagined it all or if he really believes these things have happened to him. It doesn't matter though... does it?
This book is amazing. From sections of the story beginning with song lyrics from way back, to the insanity of his experiences, you find a connection to Tom. Tom Tom...? You have to read it to know. Anyway, the story is full. Filled with laughter, "Oooh's" and "Ahh's" and many, many "OMG's!" You have to read to know.
You will not regret it. Alyssa Hunt

This novel is a unique blend of sci-fi and the supernatural, a storythat will remind readers of the quirky moments of out-of-bodyexperiences and unusual happenings that steal upon their souls in thehushed hours of the day. I felt as if I had been where theprotagonist/narrator has been. Thomas L. Hay has the gift of takingreaders on a ride to places that feel so strangely familiar, the placesthat steal into their dreams and leave them feeling as if they haveactually been somewhere. Never has sci-fi felt so real to me. Thecharacters are well-developed and the emotions they harbor withinthemselves will be familiar to readers. I enjoyed the way the conflictis developed. From the very first page, the author builds a sense ofurgency through the masterful use of descriptions that capture theemotional and psychological depth of the story. The Abduction Chronicles is fast-paced, featuring a complex plot and memorable characters, amust-read for fans of the supernatural and sci-fi.

I know one thing for sure, this book is a lot of fun to read! He has some amazing adventures and most of it is very believable. We get to know Thomas from his days as a boy growing up in the Midwest. He joins the Navy and strange events seem to dog him wherever he goes. Even working as a commercial airline pilot provides no succor from the strange dreams and dim unsettling memories.
The book is very well written, using both First person and Third person, with plenty of action, dialog, romance and bad jokes. Something for everyone.
Will you believe him? You might. I hope you read the book for yourself.
4.8 of 5 stars!
My copy came from Story Cartel. This review is my own, left of my own free will.
I particularly liked the vivid dialogues, the humorous style and the lively writing which urges the reader to turn pages.
