OH how I'm such an LB Dunbar junkie!!! Tag line for Abel's books Fight. For. Love. its just what this book is about.
For his whole life Abel has never been good enough, always weak, small, less. Always hating himself Able decides to change it. One of the things Abel is going to change is being clueless around girls. Abel needs help with that and gets (or forces by paying however you want to look at it) Elma.
Elma is just trying to take care of her mom and get revenge on her brothers death. When Abel steps in to help Elma is roped in helping Abel.
There is too many misunderstandings or jumping to conclusions between theses two that make for some great angst. Because of this, Paradise Fought reminded me of Fragrance Free, part of the Sensations Collections, and I loved it all!!! There's not twist or turns just a beautiful love story.
One of my favorite quotes "You never saw me, Elma, even when I was right in front of you."
*see that's heartbreaking, I just wanna grab Abel and let him know I see him.
I'm just in love with is book and hope many others will love it as well.

When Elma and Abel meet, Elma is desperate, She can't pay her tuition money. Abel has always adored the beautiful and popular Elma from afar, so he offers to pay it. What he wants in return is for her to tutor him to attract girls, and reluctantly she accepts.

Elma's plan is find a fighter, and lure him to fight against her brother's killer. She's after Thor, the current underground fighting star, and Abel is frustrated he can't get Elma to notice him. But things change when Elma finds out the new emerging underground fighter Beta, is the shy, timid Abel who's always coming to her rescue.

I loved this book, and couldn't put it down. I loved Abel, and loved his maturing journey, turning from a Beta to an Alpha, from staying behind the scenes to the taking the front, and from accepting seconds to claiming what's his.

LB Dunbar has done it again. This book was awesome. This book had all the different emotions that one could think of. I have never really read any MMA type books before but I do watch MMA, but I can tell you that she did a great job at describing the fight scenes.

Abel is one who feels that is he second best because he is the second son. His older brother Cain is the prized MMA fighter of the family. Abel meets Elma at school and in time learns that Cain fought her brother and died during the match, but Elma feels that Cain killed him. Bent on revenge, Elma wants Cain to pay. This book will keep you turning the pages, as I had a hard time putting it down once I finally had the time to sit down and read it. I highly recommend this book. :)

I've loved everything LB Dunbar has written so far, and this is good too! Its a little more NA/YA than previous books, but still has LB Dunbar's wonderful writing style and great story - drawing on the biblical Cain and Abel.
Abel is the younger brother of Cain. He's been overlooked, discarded as the lesser son by his father, and lacking confidence with girls. Abel sees his chance to get to know Elma, and and seizes it - though she is reluctant. Both characters were developed over the course if the story, along with likable side characters. Although Abel and his brother are fighters, for me the story was more about the fight outside the ring, for love, confidence in ability, and change.
I'm looking forward to Cains book.
