The paper these designs are printed on is a bit heavier and has no texture. The pages are not perforated, so you will have to tear the pages out of the book if you want to remove the designs from the book. The designs do not extend too close to the center binding (the binding is stapled, by the way), so the designs shouldn't get ruined if you tear them out. You could even remove the staples in order to get the pages out more neatly.
I have had this coloring book for several years now and find myself going back to it often. I love the abstract, original designs. Each design is quite different from the others and every single page offers a new coloring experience.
The designs are not very intricate, with some of the designs having some areas that are a bit larger to color in, so I would think that this book is a good choice for adults and kids over the age of 8 or so.
The designs are not printed on both sides of the pages, so you can color in this book using markers, pens, paint, etc. and not have to worry about the ink or paint bleeding through to the design on the other side of the page. The pages in this book are not perforated, and the binding is glued, so in order to remove pages from the book, you would need to tear them out carefully. The designs do not reach all the way to the center binding, but some of them come pretty close.
This is a great book for those who like abstract designs to color.
