Go Beyond City Level Security
Made for the Stylish commute. The newest addition to the Bordo line the Centium utilizes all of the knowledge Abus has obtained from over 90 years of lock making. Designed around a stylish stainless steel lock body, with an ABUS security rating of 10 out of 15, this lock features temper-hardened 5 mm steel bars. The bars are coated in a soft touch material with a faux leather finish to help protect your bike's paint.
The ideal commuting protection
Like all locks in the Bordo family, the Centium is simple to carry. The newly design, rattle-free lock holster attaches easily to the frame via silicone coated non-slip velcro straps with leather styling. The side mount makes it much easier to get the lock in and out, especially in small frames.
German Forged Protection
Constructed with 5 mm steel bars, with synthetic coating to prevent damage to the bicycle's paintwork. The bars, the links, as well as supporting elements of the locking system are made of special hardened steel and the bars are linked with special rivets.
Perfect for Commuters
Given a level 10 security rating, the Bordo Centium is perfect for urban riding and city commuting in medium risk locations, recommended for securing good bicycles. If you find yourself in high theft locations, the Centium is great for additional protection, especially in securing riding accessories and wheels.

When researching bike locks that couldn't just be cut off I discovered the ABUS Folding lock and instantly loved it! It has so many great features that make it the safest bike lock I've seen, as well as my favorite feature: the key!
Most bike locks have a combination to open it and I don't know about you but I can never remember mine! I have so many passwords for different websites, bank cards, cell phone and just about anything and everything requires a password these days. I don't want to have to remember another combination so a key is preferable! I already take my house keys with me so I have a key ring in the zipped pouch I have on the back of my bike.
A fun little feature of the key is that it has a light on it! How thoughtful is that? I can recall many times not being able to find a keyhole because it's dark and I can't see! This built in light is right on the key so you just squeeze and you have light!
The bike lock itself is a solid piece. I like that you have the option to permanently mount it on your bike with screws or just velcro it on if you are using on different bikes and need it mobile. The velcro is good solid quality so it's definitely not going anywhere.
The design is really cool and unlike anything I've ever seen. You basically uncoil it and it folds back into itself when not in use.
There is no cutting of these 5 mm steel bars! The only downside to these being steel is it's very heavy! It's described as lightweight but it's the heaviest bike lock I've ever seen. Of course the upside to that is you are pretty much guaranteed your bike won't be stolen.
The retail on this lock is $179 which is pretty pricey. However, I lost a $500 bike because of a cheap lock so I just look at it as protecting your investment.
The Abus Folding Lock is a solid, reliable lock with the latest technology and well thought out design. The attention to the detail like the light up key make this the best I've ever seen!
Disclaimer: I received this in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
The leather strap option (as opposed to water bottle boss mounting) is much more secure than I expected. The rubberized grip is very secure and does not slide from my seat-tube mounted position. I've hit some pretty nasty pot-holes and it stays put with this fairly heavy lock.
The biggest complaint I have is the lighted key lost its light. It is removable so you can change the battery. Unfortunately mine fell out somewhere and now it is lost. Now I just have a key with an oversized bulky top. I never use this key anymore and instead use the smaller 2nd key that comes with the lock. The bigger key is very noticeable in pockets.
The coated locking bars are very good at protecting surfaces. I have a $4,000 bike and I feel very confident allowing it to rest and slide across the frame. No damage to my bike or the surface of the lock.
