Nice Carry Case

My brother also has the HP Touchpad - we're some of the lucky few who got the 32 gig model for $149. The Acase carry case fits it like a glove and gives you more grip than just carrying the hard plastic touchpad. It has a white stitched border that is attractive and durable. The stand works well and gives it good support when you are typing. There is a magnet on the cover to hold it closed which I think could be a little stronger. But overall this is exactly what I hoped it would be and I am very satisfied with the product.

REAL Touchpad Case

This is probably the only REAL HP Touchpad case because one thing people fail to realize when they choose to substitute an iPAD case is that those cases do not have the little edge cuts which you will need for the "card" action. In WebOS this is necessary to be able to put applications in the background, close applications, and even exit screens sometimes without having to rely on the HOME button which is something derived from Apple. So everyone buying an iPAD case should realize that they are missing these little cuts and instead look for REAL HP Touchpad cases, but I was still equally impressed with some others features.

- Magnets - Imagine, it is not a HUGE deal for most but this case has 6 magnets, so when you close that flap, it STAYS closed.
- Stand - I like that it has the stand "feature" so when you are on the airplane you can watch a movie or use a bluetooh keyboard to "work".
- Leather - Fine, it is not REAL leather but at least it does not look like a cheap substitute so it is not shiny or feel like plastic.

Finally, the LAST THING I loved about the case is that it allowed me to insert my HP Touchpad with its TPU case on - Poetic(TM) Protective TPU Skin Case Crystal Clear for HP Touchpad Tablet Wi-Fi 16GB, 32GB . The TPU case adds a few mm to the body but luckily leather can give a little and they did not make it super tight allowing you to "wrap" your Touchpad in any type of protector with the TPU probably being the thickest. IT STILL FITS!!! Nice, so I am giving this 5 stars because the only negative is the added weight but what do you expect from a leather case and being able to wrap it in TPU means that this sucker is not going to have any problems traveling.

Excellent except for one minor detail

I purchased two of these, one for myself and one for my son who I was gifting an HP Touchpad to for Christmas. Many have stated that it is plastic and that they smelled it when it came out of the plastic. For this reason I paid close attention when opening the item and the smell that came out was leather, not plastic or "pleather". Upon inspection, it was indeed leather.

As for fit, no problems in this area. My previous case was also an Acase but for some reason, it partially covered the speakers. This one does not and the speakers are completely exposed and they sound great. Great improvement over my previous case. The rest of the case fit very well. As for looks, this case brings quiet dignity and class to my Touchpad. Looks great and feels awsome in my hands. Sturdy, elegant, properly fit and the white threaded trim adds that extra touch of pizzaz.

My previous case had allowed three angle adjustments while this one only allows one. However, the one angle adjustment is perfect and allows the Touchpad to stand cleanly on it's own. The previous case required the cover to sit flat in front of the unit in order to allow for adjustment. Nice, but it actually took up valuable real estate in front of the machine. I prefer this method.

Now, to the one "minor" detail which to me is not minor. One case was perfect with no defects. Thesecond case, on the other hand, was mis-cut. The leather cuts allowing access to the lens at the top and the button at the bottom of the Touchpad were cut crooked. If you look at the image of the case provided above, the cuts are on the front left and the right as pictured. There are four total on all four sides. But it's the left and right that are mis-cut (at an angle, not straight). It makes the entire Touchpad and the case itself look cheap. This particular case should never have been let out of the factory door. But since the case was less than $9, I figured it was cheaper to keep it than to pay the return postage.

Overall, the case is excellent especially considering the price and I highly recommend it. However, keep in mind, you may receive yours mis-cut like I did one of mine. Take your chances and if you get a good one, then you have made out like a bandit. If it's mis-cut, you will not be a happy camper. Good luck!
