++++ Update, so when I returned the pack they were really cool about it. got a full refund! :)
As the description says, the package comes with three screen protectors for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, plus a small pinked-edged (so no rough edges) microfiber cloth and a cardboard squeegee for pushing out the bubbles after applying.
One of the easiest tablet protectors I've applied, and I've applied several to other tablets (Nook Color and Ipad 2) primarily because it comes in 3 layers --- red tabbed layer that covers the screen-side of the protector sheet, black tabbed layer that holds the top side. Because both red and black tabbed layers are quite stiff, it made it much easier to align and move the protector while applying (and it didn't droop down to touch the screen, which can potentially add dust particles).
The protector itself feels sturdy and thick enough to protect the screen from scratches. There is no visible change to color or screen clarity. Since it's totally clear it does NOT prevent glare (I don't care about that) -- it looks very much like the naked screen. The protector itself is a couple of mm short for all the sides of the entire glass screen of the Galaxy Note 10.1. I didn't see this as a problem because it made application/alignment easier, and the important area (i.e. the actual display that you turn on) is fully covered.
The S pen works great with this protector. I didn't notice any changes in surface feel with the pen and default rubber tip while writing, but did notice a slight drag when drawing. Switching out to the white plastic nib fixed that issue and the pen glides smoothly over the surface. I did a drawing for an hour and a half in Sketchbook Pro and did not notice any scratches after cleaning the screen of inevitable smudges/fingerprints, even when tilted in the light. The light pen tracking that I did see appeared to be just smearing (possible from tracking through finger prints) which wiped away completely with a microfiber cloth. I don't press very hard on the screen but I'm not gentle either -- your mileage may vary.
The only issue I have with this particular protector is that there is a cutout for the front-facing camera and flash. I understand that for the matte version, you'd want to have the cutout so it doesn't interfere with the clarity of camera, but it's useless for the clear application and I would much rather have that rectangle of space protected. I ended up turning the protector upside down so that the camera surface is protected, and left the Samsung logo below the useable area with the cutout.
If I run into any issues with this protector long-term (i.e., scratches from prolonged pen use, etc) I'll update the review as appropriate.
Notes for installation:
I did use clear packing tape to help hold and apply the protector (made a handle for the black-tab layer) as well as to remove 2 small dust particles that ended up under the protector during initial application -- dab it with packing tape and it'll pick up the dust without leaving any noticeable residue -- much better than trying to pick off dust with your finger and adding oil/skin to the underside of your protector. (This obviously only applies to dry applications, not wet-apply protectors like Zagg etc).
Also, I've used the "clean bathroom" technique for all protectors and it helps a lot if your apartment or house is dusty. Put a small table (a nightstand works well if your bathroom is small) in your bathroom, clean off the top with a wet wipe and microfiber cloth to remove any dust (since you'll be placing your tablet and supplies on it). Put your tablet etc on the table, shut the door. Run the shower hot for a few minutes. The moisture in the air will pick up the airborne dust particles, reducing the chances of any dust landing on your clean tablet surface by quite a lot. Clean tablet surface with microfiber cloth (and any special solution that it might come with). Apply protector. In the last five applications of various screen protectors I've had maybe 1-2 dust particles each appear using this method, and they were all easy to remove with the packing tape.
More forgiving than most screen protectors.
With matte finish, I don't see myself.
S-pen doesn't stick and doesn't slide all over screen.
I'd buy it again.
Sometimes the bubble cannot be moved to the edge because of a speck of dirt on the screen. Then carefully lift the screen protector and remove the persistent speck. Once installed, it really gives you a good feeling to protect your very expensive tablet. Please be patient with the installation process.
It the protectors were 10-20% cheaper, I would give it a strong five stars. But I still recommend this product.
