Just received my new adapter and tried it out on my Windows 7 computer with a Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 Graphics video card. Before the install I had two 24" LCD monitors running at 1920 x 1080 resolution. For a quick test I grabbed a 20 inch LCD (normally used as a second dispaly on my laptop)and installed it on the Displayport output running at 1650 x 1050 resolution (maximum resolutiion fo my 20" LCD). Easy install, just connected the DVI cable from the monitor to the new adapter and plugged it into the graphics card Displayport output. It automatically detected the monitor after I turned it on. I verified the monitor settings were at the correct resolution and I was up and running. Just like I like it, simple, fast, and painless. The hardest part was remembering how to turn on the third monitor and finding room on the computer desk for three monitors.

This adapter does work, but it does not bring my monitor (one of three identical Acer G215's, all on the same PC) in and out of power-save mode reliably. It also occasionally refuses to convert at 1920x1080, the native resolution of my screens, and instead drops down to 1440x900. As of today, it now also no longer passed monitor identification through to the card, so Windows will no longer allow me to select 1920x1080 *at all*, though it does allow me to select 1600x1200, which, being larger than the native resolution of the monitor, simply will not display at all!

Also, while switching between Eyefinity SLS mode and normal 3x1 extend mode, this adapter often will put the attached monitor into "sleep" mode, requiring me to tell the computer to put all screens in that state and revive them, sometimes several times, before it activates. This also occasionally happens when resuming the monitors from sleep when I've been away from the computer for a while.

I had hoped that this would save me from having to buy one of the $100 USB-powered adapters, but it seems I'm not so lucky.

Although the product was certified by AMD, the active DisplayPort does not work. I tried to run three monitors on an HIS Radeon HD 6850 Graphics Card. When the DisplayPort is installed, it causes ALL the monitors to reset (blink) every 15 to 20 seconds. A Google search confirms that this is a chronic problem associated with this product. I installed a second video card (Radeon HD 5770) and was able to run two monitors off of one card. However, irrespective of how I configured my system (two monitors fed from the Radeon HD 6850 and one monitor fed from the Radeon HD 5770, or two monitors fed from the Radeon HD 5770 and one monitor fed from the Radeon HD 6850, the DisplayPort-fed monitor would reset every 15 to 20 seconds. Very disappointing.

I bought this active adapter because I knew from researching that you need an active adapter for video cards to convert the signal to output on 3 screens. I just bought my EVGA GTX 670 FTW from amazon and had 3 monitors to hook up. I bought this adapter in hoping it would work for NVIDIA since it was ATI certified. It in fact does work for NVIDIA surround. Also if you are wondering you can use this adapter and then plug a DVI to HDMI dongle if you need to. I tried it out and it works so for all you wondering or who made the mistake and bought the wrong connector it does in fact work! 5 stars for a great cheap product!

Works perfectly on my AMD / ATI XFX HD5770 card providing me with 3 displays running at their native resolution from the single graphics card.
---- HD5770 ----
1920x1200x32@60hz - Native HDMI port
1600x900x32@60hz - Native DVI-D port
1600x900x32@60hz - Native DisplayPort -> DVI-D (this adapter)
---- USB displaylink ----
1600x900x32@60hz - USB -> DVI-D (HIS displaylink)
1600x900x32@60hz - USB -> DVI-D (HIS displaylink)
----

I do also have 2 displays running with USB display adapters, running 5 total displays from the machine, all at native resolution.
A previously tried active adapter made by "HIS" was only able to run the display at 1360x768x32@60hz (tried two of them with the same result).

This is a PC card in Mac Pro (Early 2008) which has 2x DVI-D and 1x HDMI and 1x DP running the latest OS X 10.11.3.
Have not tested in Windows, but I would think that since this works perfectly for OS X that it should also work with Windows.

I wanted to use all three outputs on my Mac Pro's ATI 5770 video board. There is info around on how to do this, but it's cryptic at best and Apple's version wants a pair of $99 adapters, something I figured was ridiculous...

Bottom line: the mini displayport adapters need to be "active" for the third port to work. Apple's $29 analog adapter is. Their $29 DVI is NOT. This device (Accell B087B-005B UltraAV DisplayPort to DVI-D Single-Link Active Adapter) IS. All I did was get a pair of these for my 27" 1080p monitors. And on the third port I used a DVI to HDMI cable to connect my 37" Visio HDTV. Piece of cake!

Works great for my third 3D monitor; all three monitors are running at 120Hz with clear pictures in 3D and 2D. Viewers cannot tell which screen is connected to Accell's active UltraAV DisplayPort to DVI-D Single-Link Adapter...meeting expected expectations.
