I am extremely pleased with this switch. I bought it because I have a television that is a few years old and has only two HDMI inputs, while my collection of devices with HDMI outputs has now grown to four; and it is really tedious to have to reach around the back of the television to swap HDMI cables whenever I want to change devices. With the Accell switch connected to one of the two HDMI inputs of the television, I now have more than enough HDMI inputs.

I was fully prepared for the automatic-switching feature of the switch to be unreliable, so that I would need to use it in manual mode ( = press the button for the input you want). However, I find that the automatic feature works flawlessly: the switch selects the right input as soon as you switch on any of the devices connected to it. So, I have not needed to further clutter up my coffee table by adding the Accell remote control to my pile remote controls.

The switch looks considerably more expensive than it is -- so I am very happy to leave it in a visible location.

I have tested the switch with additional devices besides those I use regularly (e.g., the DisplayPort output of my laptop via a DisplayPort/HDMI adaptor), and the signal from those devices, as delivered via the switch to the television input, is perfect.

It's got five ports and it switches HDMI. It works well. It has a remote. That pretty much sums it up.

Notes:
* It seems pretty stable and lays flat even with cables plugged in (some switches aren't deep enough and tend to "rise up" in the front due to the cable weight in the back)
* The power supply is a "wall wart" type, but it's not _too_ big.
* As with all electronic devices for home theater use, I'd prefer it if the remote had a separate "on" and "off" instead of just "power on/off", because that would make it easier to use a Logitech Harmony remote with.
* I don't use any super complicated HDMI features -- just audio and video going to the TV (which is what most people use). There are various "return" capabilities and networking capabilities in HDMI, and I haven't tested any of those with this switch.

Overall, no issues. Quite pleased.

I have an A/V receiver that has inputs for four hdmi devices, and one out put to the TV. I have three hdmi devices. Two of the three would not work with the receiver. I did a lot of cable switching, which I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with. There may have been a problem with the receiver, but after reading several remarks, I find that this problem is more common than you think, especially with receivers that are a little older. I felt I would need a switcher that would be compatibly with everyone's hdmi signal. After more checking and reading I came across the Accell K072C-010B. It worked perfectly right out of the box. There has been no change in picture or sound quality. It even has a port to use for devices that are always on standby, even when turned off. It is a nice looking package, and appears to be well made, it can be manual, auto, or changed with the included remote. It is in use several hours a day, I have had it over a month, and its still working perfectly. My only problem now, is to find devices for the other two ports. I don't think you'll go wrong with this product.

This unit worked great right out of the box. It switches automatically to any connected device as soon as it is turned on. I really like the option to control the switching manually as auto switching may not be appropriate at times. It's operation is seemless and does exactly what I want it to do; switch to the desired HDMI input.

After adding a Wii U to the growing collection of HDMI devices, I was now one short on my Marantz NR1602 (4 HDMI). I first tried the cheaper Kinvio switch and while it worked when connecting directly to the TV, it didn't work when trying to run it through one of the HDMI inputs on the receiver. I returned that switch and order this switch from Accell. I bought all new Amazon Basic cables, hooked it up and everything worked like a charm. So now I have my Wii U and PS3 connected to the Accell HDMI switch and it's output is hooked up to my Game HDMI Input on my A/V Receiver. My XBox 360 S is on it's way so I will never have to switch inputs on my TV again (Lazy? Yes, Do I care? Nope)

The remote seems cheap, but I plan on programming and saving the IR codes on my Harmony remote before something would happen to it. I haven't needed the remote yet as long as the switching is on "Auto". Will need if 2 devices are on during downloads or something else and need to switch between though.

It is not a great looking device, but I have it stashed away just visible enough for the IR sensor to be used.

Very happy so far. If I have issues long term I will update the review because picking an HDMI switch should have been easy, but reviews were all over the place on most switches.

Like many others here I needed a good HDMI switch until the next tv upgrade. For me, I'm happy with my 5 year old 50in Panasonic and will upgrade to a 4K set once more content is available. I've been using the Kinivo 501BN HDMI switch. This Accell K072C-010B unit is a nice upgrade for three reasons others may already have mentioned. 1) All the ports are in the back of the unit and it is just heavy enough to stay put with five HDMI cords hanging off it. My old Kinivo unit had ports on the sides and rear and was always at some odd angle. 2) There are separate buttons on the front of the unit for each HDMI port. My old Kinivo unit only had a button to cycle through to each port. Some devices like the Apple TV took a few seconds before you knew if it was on or not. So I often would have to help the kids set up the Wii or dvd player. Now they know what button is for what unit and they can push the button for that unit directly. 3) Finally, there is no power cord. I was looking for a power cord for this Accell switch but there isn't even a power port for it. Now I wonder why the Kinivo switch needed one. One more nice thing about the Accell switch, the remote control looks a little nicer. It's still a flimsy little plastic remote but the design looks nicer and I don't mind leaving out.
