I loved this book! It took me right back to those years when I crossed over into adulthood. When learning that mistakes are part growing up and how we own up to them helps to determine the type of people we become. The characters in this book were very relatable. When I read about the main character, Sabrina's, first relationship I cringed with her at some of the things that she did while at the same time remembering exactly how it felt to fall for someone at that age. This was a such a fun and clever read that tugged at my heart over and over. --Amazon
I loved this book. It was a great reminder of how family relationships can be misconstrued based upon the view that we have about ourselves. Sabrina was a surprise baby, because of this she sees herself as an accident and wanted in her family. She strives to live the perfect life to gain acceptance in from her parents. In her journey to get ready to leave home for the first time, she finds out that she could not be anymore wrong about her "perfect" and her place in her family. --Amazon
The time between graduating high school and going off to college (or getting married ) can be paralyzing. It's time to be an adult. We want to be an adult. But it can be terrifying to take those first few steps into adulthood. That's what this story is. It's a coming of age story about naive, spunky Sabrina who is struggling to make that final advancement into maturation. The path she takes to get there is at times embarrassing but necessary and then, ultimately, gratifying. This is my favorite kind of book! Sweet, quirky and fun with a happy ending --Amazon

A few things I loved: Sabrina referring to her 1-year-old nephew as "The Noise," how she wears her safari hat / uniform whenever possible because it makes her feel more important, and her lyrical thoughts that occasionally surface above her teenage angst; "The ocean was a revelation, full of infinite possibility."
This is a light, quick coming of age story that is appropriate for any age.
The main message for me is that none of us are "accidents" and that it is so important for all of us to talk more openly with friends and families and not accept our own "stories" of ourselves and others.
I highly recommend this book to anyone but especially high school/college age people.
