I was blessed as a child to know Ms. Kinard. She and her former husband were friends of my parents. Her beauty, sense of humor, kindness, smile, and wonderful vocal ability, never remotely hinted at the secret she was holding onto and the hurt she was evidently silently experiencing.
I am happy her story has had such a wonderful ending and I anxiously await the sequel.
I highly recommend this book. It is a beautiful story, beautifully and honestly told.
With so much beauty and musicality, Marquita reminds us that dreams are never, really disremembered, for though they may appear deferred dreams can be realized in their divinely appointed time.
Marquita's memoir is a "must-read" for all who seek the strength, courage, and wisdom to realize their freedom. It is a tour de force of spirit and hope.
I have always wondered what it would feel like to give up a child at birth and this mother's story came too close for comfort. How does one carry that pain through all those years unless Love makes it bearable? I finally understand Ella Wheeler Wilcox's statement, "passionate Love is pain's own mother."
Wonderfully, Love triumphs in the end - Love always finds a way.
What a beautiful read. This small compact book brings Love, pain, laughter, inspiration and Joy in a bundle tied with a blue ribbon.
I highly recommend this book to both women and men as a reminder that the Divine Plan is active in us all.
It makes one soul search into the purpose of our existence and ponder the decisions we've made and it's comforting to know "a way will be made" as long as we are determined and persevere though appearances all point to the contrary.
Thank you Marquita for sharing your story and the journey to yourself that's reaffirmed for me there are no mistakes in life.
