The plot idea is a good one, the writing is just so bad. When a writer does such things as use "who's" instead of "whose" or "loose" instead or "lose", it becomes quite distracting. Entire paragraphs are written in all caps because the characters are screaming obscenities. There is no character development.
I was hoping for much better after reading the other reviews.

Ashley Fontainne manages to achieve the impossible: she makes accountants interesting! Beginning with an incredibly harrowing scene you are grabbed hook, line and sinker into the story as the book becomes an almost compulsive read.

Audra is a worthy protagonist, almost destroying herself in her quest for vengeance against the despicable Olin, her boss. The action and revelations don't stop as each main character is explored in depth, giving more weight to the overall plot. The book's central scene simply explodes across the pages and is as gripping as it is satisfying. The last chapter is certainly clever, setting up nicely for the sequel, Zero Balance - and if book 2 is anything like Accountable to None it's sure to be a powerful must-read!

The author of Accountable To None, Ashley Fontainne, took me on an emotional roller coaster ride, feeling everything from pain and heartache of a character that the reader finds themselves wanting to wrap in a warm embrace, to the evil sense of entitlement on one of the most brutal characters I have read about in a long time. I'm exhausted. I could not put this book down. It gripped me from the very beginning and the intensity level just kept building and building. I found myself holding my breath as I read. I suggest you start this book on a Saturday morning with nothing planned for the day, because once you start, you won't be able to stop. This is an AMAZING READ! I highly recommend it.

My first book by this author, and it was worth my reading time. I liked how she did the chapters like links in a chain, always connecting the current link to the past and future ones. I like her style, characters, pacing, motivations, and plot. Some really good and different twists. I would definitely read the rest of this series.

The story line sounded intriguing, so I downloaded this book for free. Good thing - it would have been a waste of money as well as time. The character development was pathetic and sadly predictable. The spelling and grammar were horrendous... numerous sentences were like "snakes" - winding around and writhing painfully as they tried to go in too many directions. I found myself reading the same sentence 3 or 4 times to figure out what the writer was trying to say. I dislike profanity, and there was so much of it - fortunately, by skimming over the pages of all-cap yelling and F-bombs, I think I spared myself at least a third of the book. I grew weary of the heroine being described as "frail", even "bony". This was particularly annoying as she was exacting her revenge, a time in which descriptors evoking an image of power would have been much more appropriate and welcome.

Take my advice and skip this book unless you are an English teacher who is looking for bad examples.

I enjoyed this one - it was a quick read, but had a good plot and had me rooting for the good guys. Or gals, in this case. We all probably know somebody like Olin. You know, the boss who leads with fear and intimidation. There's definitely a sequel here. I can't wait to see what Piper has in store for Audry and Gabriella. Maybe Olin will escape, or maybe he'll take a chapter from Piper's life and go spend some time in the loony bin and manipulate the doctors by seeming "cured" after a suitable amount of time. I'll be looking for the next one. Great job Ashley!

I can't believe the number of people that have given this book a four or five star rating. The plot is unbelievable, the characters are one dimensional, and the author's writing is eighth grade at best. She has mastered the run-on sentence, and I've seldom read an author that can misplace modifiers so frequently. She also puts apostrophes where they don't belong and leaves them out when she should use them. (The plural of Barbie is Barbies, not Barbie's. That's the singular possessive, which she should have learned in fourth grade.) I read 37% of this book and couldn't take any more. Fortunately, I got this as a freebie, so I didn't waste any money. I did waste some time on this book which is too bad.

I am going to remove it from my Kindle -- it's that poor.

I took the time to read some of the five star reviews. Be aware a lot of them were given right after the book was published. Many of them are one paragraph long and submitted by people never reviewed anything before or since. Something smells....

This book came up on the list of free titles just a few days ago, and since the description of the story sounded interesting to me, I got it. I typically do not read reviews before I get books, but just look at how many reviews there are, and what the average review is. This one had something like 45 reviews, with an average of over 4 stars. That's a pretty respectable average.

Then, for some reason, I decided to check out the low rated reviews before I started reading the book, and saw many complaints of poor spelling, poorly written, etc. Since these are things that really annoy me, I decided I'd read this one next and thought to myself if it was as bad as the reviews say I'd probably not finish.

I have now finished the book, and found no instances of all the bad spelling, grammar, etc that other reviewers have mentioned. Makes me wonder if indeed those things had been there and corrected, and the reviews had been based on a copy that actually was poorly edited.

This is a fairly short read, and moves along quickly, and I must say I enjoyed it. I'll be looking forward to reading this author's next book.
