If one is considering a career in accounting this book is a must. It literally takes you from the very basics of accounting to corporate level of accounting. Each chapter is full of incredible colorful pictures, diagrams, and tons of examples and summaries. Furthermore, the end of the chapter questions are a gold mine to solidify the actual chapter learning. I highly recommend this book or anyone of its editions (not much changes from one edition to another).

I use this textbook in my accounting class. I have a hard copy provided by the publishing company in office. Because it is too bulky and heavy to carry, I have bought a kindle version to read it at home.

Unfortunatly, the kindle version is completely useless. The hard copy includes a lot of pictures and tables to present journal entries and financial statements. However, all those illustrations do not appear in the kindle version. The kindle version shows only texts and the titles of illustrations. It is obvious that amazon.com and the publishing company have never compared the kindle version to the hard copy.

All the positive reviews presented above are based on a hard copy version. Never buy the kindle version!

You can tell that chapters weren't written or edited for the individual publication. One chapter shows journalizing one way, with the next few chapters showing it a different way. Overall, a good textbook to learn accounting... just gotta get over the inconsistencies.

Great book with all the core principles of accounting and even more in the later chapters. Even a few years later I am still using this book as a quick reference for my job. Covers all the financial statements, balance sheet, general ledger, month end close etc. Later chapters also touch into bits of cost accounting.

This book was used for two accounting classes. It continues to hold its binding and the material is very useable. There are sections of the book that can be used for explanation of the accounting principles in the appendix. It is a big book 8x10x2.75 and it weighs approximately 6lbs.
