I decided to write the manufacturer, G.H. Meiser & Co to see if they would cover it under warranty. Someone got back to me very quickly with an explanation that some small parts inside the hose (where it threads onto the gauge body) may have gotten dirty and could be cleaned. They even attached a .pdf file. I unthreaded the hose and discovered those two small parts were missing. Then it dawned on me: at one point the hose had in fact "unthreaded" itself just by rotation, and those small parts must have fallen out (I can say this because the pressure-release button did work fine prior to that).
Long story short: I emailed them back and they were happy to send me those replacement parts free of charge. That's pretty good customer service.
The image listed on this item is for a gauge made in the USA while the item they are actually selling is made in China. They are both from the same manufacturer and that manufacturer does stand behind the devices.

I wanted the 90 degree chuck for my motorcycle. But the gauge is crap.
I have used an Accu-Gauge for motorcycles for decades. I wanted a low-pressure gauge for lawn mowers and four-wheelers and a high-pressure gauge for trucks.Published 17 days ago by Ellis Counts

I got this for my motorcycle. It was a struggle to fit a regular pencil style gauge between the front brake rotors. This gauge fits easily and seems to be of decent quality. Read morePublished 3 months ago by rver
Seems to take an accurate reading. A little tricky to line up the gauge head with the valve on the tire and not lose any air. Read morePublished 7 months ago by Bruce Homer
This is cheap insurance for your Accugage. The rubber cover is a must buy. Fit is perfect and the instrument is protected forever. Terrific!Published 8 months ago by Dixon Yard
Works exactly as advertised. The disk plates on my bike's front wheel make it difficult to use a regular gauge. This one makes it easy.Published 11 months ago by J Douglas Bottorff
