Product description
Using TwinDrag technology, Accurate has created the SR line of reels with TwinSpin. The SR reel is the world’s only true TwinDrag spinning reel designed for super heavy-duty angling performance. Machined from the same high-grade materials as other Accurate reels, the SR has the strength and heat-dissipating qualities to beat big, powerful fish like marlin, tuna and wahoo that you otherwise wouldn’t think to challenge with a spinning reel. Other features to maximize leverage, include a power handle, a unique adjustable pre-set knob on the front of the spool to precisely control drag tension, and a rugged, manual bail mechanism for picking up line. Available in a 6:1 high-speed retrieve ratio, the SR-30 lays more than 50 inches of line on the reel spool with every full revolution of the reel’s handle (also available in a 4:1 higher torque ratio). A series of circular, machined holes around the skirted spool serves to reduce heat buildup, and helps trim the reel’s weight. The SR-30 & SR-12, with a smaller profile, are now both available.

rather crudely made in cosmetics and definitely not worth the exaggerated price . There are stronger and better made reels for a lower price that do outperform this "miniature wannabe".
I also own the SR-12 and BX500(purchased in 2009) and landed hundreds of fish with it. The durability and precision is phenomenal. See video that compares the size of the 6 and 12 side by side. I think it's the perfect size!
Well I guess that what makes our country a great one is that anyone can say anything they want even if completely bogus, which is apparently what one Ill informed and mean spirited reviewer has done I have fished all of the accurate reels that are made by this fine company and they truly are engineering marvels. This company makes the finest reels ever made by any company and anyone spewing nonsense about their products should be ashamed of themselves. I am proud to use these fine products that are made right here in the United States. In fact after I wrie this review I am going to buy 2 new Accurate reels!!!!
After working in a tackle shop and being able to compare this reel with other high quality spinning reels I can honestly say you need to get this reel. It is made from high grade aircraft aluminum making it stronger and more durable than an reel such as the Stella. These reels have little to no plastic parts in them. The drag is incredible. I have cause everything from yellowtail, calico bass, leopard Sharks and even trout it is a great reel and with a accurates new 2 year service free you can't get anything better. Don't give an opinion on a product you haven't used (j Mendez)
I wrote the comments below about a year ago. Today I received from Accurate the new rendition of the SR-6 which they kindly offered in exchange for the previous reel. Suffice it to say that every single issue I mentioned earlier has been addressed and the new reel is simply fantastic. The new SR-6 is at par with the rest of the very awesome Accurate line of reels. I take my hat off to the people at Accurate. Thank you.
Please, please save your money, don't waste it. I own seven Accurate reels, I like them all, so I truly don't understand how they have launched what could possibly be the worst reel out there bar none. If you are abhorred by the exterior machining and awful cosmetics, well, that's just looks. But, unless you want your heart broken, don't look inside. To start, the large main wheel is plastic. The handle spindle is kept from moving from side to side by a set of flimsy aluminum washers or shims. But that's not enough, so they have added some tiny hex screws to the body, which in the case of my reel protrude in a truly shoddy fashion; moreover, they can easily fall off.
There is a ring on the front of the spool which is fixed by just a few thin threads. Maybe for all practical purposes that ring is attached to the spool as secure as the Rock of Gibraltar. But I can't help thinking that the ring will come off anytime, especially if I'm on to anything bigger than a crappy. Even then, the action of the spinning spool and the brake can loosen the flimsy ring.
As I mentioned earlier, I was a big fan of Accurate. My other Accurate reels have functioned fine so far, and I have hauled some nice snappers, small mahi, and small tuna with my SR12. However, just thinking what they are capable of at launching the SR6 as it is, I no longer see the rest of the line, I no longer see the brand as I used to.
For the price of an SR6, be smart and buy a Stella.
If you're looking for a great spinning reel that can take on all different types of gamefish, look no further than the SR-6. Unbelievable construction, unparalleled smoothness, and a drag system that just can't be beat is what you are going to find. I see no better reels on the market, nor do I expect to. When I fish Accurate, I know I am fishing the best.
