This used to be sold by Sears for $8.95 on sale. Now they only carry the oddly shaped version that is of zero use to many motorcyclists. The only other source that I've found for the real deal, as this is, would be Road Gear and they get about $25-$30 for it. When I found it at Amazon for half that, I did the only sensible thing: I bought TWO of them and placed them in cold storage right away. They are the absolute BEST tool for checking air in standard streetbike rims with the valve stem that points directly at the axle. Can't go wrong, great tool at a great price AND they are available. That may be the biggest plus right there.

I ordered 2 of these, one for myself and one for a friend. We needed this style of gauge to check the air pressure on our motorcycles with dual front disk brakes. Unfortunaltely both of them have failed. Mine worked for a few times accurately, but suddenly began to read about 40 psi above the actual pressure. I unsuccessfully tried to reset the gauge by removing the battery. The other gauge never worked properly. It shows all '7's every time you try to use it. I have since replaced my gauge with one bought at Wally World. It is marketed by Slime and has a short hose for reaching in tight places, has a back light, and several other useful features and costs less than the Accutire units.

I read the reviews before purchasing two of these. One for me, one for my brother. We're both motorcyclists and it's a pain to check pressure with a pencil gauge, and you should check your pressure before every ride. One of the two I received leaked air internally immediately and gave false readings. I returned that one and got a replacement. This one stopped working after about 4 uses. I fiddled with the batteries but it was still dead. I smashed it to bits. I'm afraid to ask if my brothers works. The price was great and the unit felt good in my hand but like so many others that bought these they just don't work. Do not buy one !!!

OK, I purchased this for my bike, because I had a good experience with another accutire pressure gauge.
But this one "sucks". It worked ok when I first got it, but after 2 years the battery went dead and I only used it maybe 20 times. My other accutire pressure gauge is 10 years old and I'm still on the original battery. So I purchased a new battery and found out you have to take this whole thing apart, to get to where the battery is buried. So I take it apart very carefully, not to lose these very small parts and replaced the battery. So happy with my battery install, I go out to my garage and try it out and all I get is 1 psi on the lcd, so I try a different car, same thing 1 psi. This is a disposable item, when the battery dies you just throw it away and buy a new one. No thanks, I will keep using my analog pressure gauge.

Sad to say, this is not a good product. All plastic, difficult to get the head on the stem of the tire. I tossed the unit in the trash and purchase a Sears unit which is far and away better and cheaper. Not the sellers fault, just a badly designed unit.

It works well -- motorcycle and bicycle.
OK -- i know it's for a motorcycle, and like i said, it's ok for that. It's hard to maneuver around given the somewhat bulky shape, though -- and so this may be unfair BUT: but it's not good for car tires. I was expecting to be able to use it for an tires. It just doesn't fit inside the hubcap. So i dinged it a star -- see my picture for what i mean about bulkyness, i'll try and take a pic with the tire as well... stay tuned.

Digital readout, pretty simple to use. I don't run a lab so I can't speak on accuracy or precision/repeatability, however there is one area we all can see. From the design you would think you can hold the rubber part and use the tool. Nope. You hold the metal part to push onto the air valve, otherwise it won't seat. So the rubber is in the wrong place.

I like that this has an angled neck for reaching between the spokes of my wheels, but I still have to press down on it firmly to get an accurate gauge; but I should have known that from the design of it. Much better than other digital gauges I've tried. This one has been far better at reaching those hard-to-reach places, like those on motorcycles. You can use this on any other tire besides motorcycles if you want. Otherwise, I keep this one with my bike tools.
