While this would be a good frog for a broadsword, it can't be laced small enough for a rapier. However, someone with some leather skills can cut it down and punch new holes to fit a rapier scabbard. The leather looks sturdy and everything seems well put together. Just too big for a rapier.

The only only drawback of this product is that the string that tightens or loosens the frog is very stiff and dry, it already broke :(
However all u have to do is use a thin black shoelace instead so it retains it usability and visual appeal.
Definitely a 9 out of 10 for any sword enthusiast.

Works perfectly with celtic women's belt to hold the sword that makes the costume. Price was right. Adjustable ties on frog allowed for the wider scabbard. Position on body was very good for maximum movement in costume. Compared to the back sword holder I tried before this there was a world of difference. This is soooooo much more comfortable. Make sure your belt is wide enough and thick enough to carry the weight of your sword or it will cut into your back. Frog is just great.

I wore this everyday with a Medieval Arming Sword in order to see how durable it was. My days involved going up and down stairs, sitting, and using my Total Gym. This sword frog holds up to this day. If you are looking for a cool sword frog that holds its own, this is the one you get. Of course there are pros and cons so let me get on with it.

Pros:
Good Leather Work

Easy to Adjust for Just About Any Sword

Works With Just About Any Belt You Have

Holds On To Your Sword For Dear Life

Cons:
The Sword (once its in the belt)Authentic Battle Ready Viking Long sword sits (referring to your spine as the 90 degree mark) at about anywhere from 275 degrees and 290 degrees (degrees as in angles) so it will hit your stairs. (Regular Belt I dont know about a medieval belt yet)

The loops for the belt to go through will sometimes snag on the belt which makes it more difficult to attach it to a belt but you just have to wiggle it a bit

For some swords you have to modify the frog in order for it to fit.

The quality is high, but note that it is constructed to work only from the left side (right-hand draw). The leather is sturdy, and quite heavy-weight (which may or may not match your preference).

Shipping was quite late; I had ordered using Prime 2-day shipping well in advance of Halloween -- and received it the week after. The delay knocks this back from what would otherwise have been a 4.5 rating.

i got this for a pirate cosplay for halloween & Alestorm concert im attending, and it works great. its adjustable so it works with just about any size scabbard. Its important to note that this is to hold the scabbard, not the sword itself. the sword goes in the scabbard of course; but if you dont have a scabbard already then this wont help you much.

However if you do: i recently put a budk pirate sword in it and it fit well; when that sword didnt last as i had thought, i bought a new sword, and re-tied the strings and it adjusted to the new sword/scabbard easily and holds it in place beautifully. made from good quality leather (not the cheap crap) this will hold up for a few hours of cosplay or days/months/whatever of Renaissance Faire cosplaying/LARP. Definitely high quality

This item is perfect for my hand and a half Crecy Sword. which is very large and heavy. It holds it in place very well and I have not had to adjust it or retighten the straps at all since I've bought it, I have worn it about 20 or 30 times so far and am pleased every time I strap it on.

Very well made. WARNING: It is a bit too big for my rapier, though and doesn't hold the scabbard securely at all. Even adjusted as small as it would go there is still a good inch of wiggle room. This is a problem since the title and description show the words rapier in them. Feels really well made and sturdy. Nice leather thong.
