Should've been good, but I got two duds
I purchased:the 31.5 inch WQHD 1440 monitor for $280 on Amazon Prime Daythe 27 inch WQHD 1440 monitor for $320 while it was on a saleTL;DR: The 31.5 arrived in great condition, but slowly developed dead pixels. I'm hoping the replacement won't have similar issues. The 27 arrived in horrible condition, almost looking "used", and I returned after testing with my setup.I did a lot of research before choosing my monitors, and I found ASUS to be a great brand. They offer great quality at a good price margin. And from what I could tell, these should be great monitors. But in my case, they simply weren't.The first monitor I bought was the 31.5 inch. This monitor arrived in great condition! It looked great, and once I hooked it up, it worked great. The huge, curved 1440 VA screen was a massive step up from my 24 inch 1080 TN screen, and was great for productivity and gaming. I won't go more into detail with its performance, feel free to read other reviews covering this. For the first two weeks, I had no issues with this monitor, and really enjoyed the upgrade. However, I slowly started to notice random blue pixels appearing on the right side of the screen. After running a pixel test (http://lcdtech.info/en/tests/dead.pixel.htm ) I found 6 dead pixels scattered across the right side of the screen. Given, on a 2K monitor these pixels are somewhat hard to find if you aren't on a solid-colored screen. I never noticed it while playing CS:GO, but while web browsing I noticed them fairly easily.Either way, this was very concerning. Monitors should not be developing dead pixels within a few weeks of use. I placed a request for a replacement and hopefully these issues aren't present in the new one. I don't have pictures of these pixels, as I've already packaged up both monitors and will send them out tomorrow morning. (I'm typing this on my old 1080 monitor, it sucks). While these pixels appeared in the 31.5 inch, I ordered a 27 inch to either replace or supplement my existing monitor. This was considered because my desk isn't deep, I'd say it's average. And with a monitor above the size of 27 inches, a deep desk is preferred to accommodate the larger viewing angle. The 27 inch monitor arrived promptly in undamaged packaging, but while unboxing I found the monitor to be in a seemingly used condition. This was very confusing to me. The monitor was fully wrapped and sealed, but the screen was covered in scuffs, the bottom of the monitor was scraped up, and the back section by the ports was heavily scraped, with the display port damaged. After further unwrapping and attaching the stand, I also found another problem. This stand was very loose, and the monitor freely shook separate from the stand if I were to move it.This was in horrible condition. I don't know if the QC somehow goofed, or this was somehow a refurbished product, or the monitor was damaged in some other way before it was sent to me. But either way, this was unacceptable. After taking some pictures I placed it on my desk and used it for about an hour. From what I could tell there were no dead pixels. Afterwards I packed it up and sent it off back to Amazon.I really wanted to write a solid review. The 31.5 inch has been a great experience, but if the replacement for that one starts to have problems too, I'm gonna have to look elsewhere. I'll leave a follow up with how the replacement treats me. My advice is to do plenty of research and figure out exactly what monitor you need. If this still fits the bill, buy it, but make sure to use it plenty during the first month to ensure it works fine. Otherwise you won't be able to return it through amazon, and you could be out a monitor for weeks.

Received this monitor thru the USPS in good condition - boxed really well. The monitor's base was very easy to install and frankly is a solid base to me. The monitor has a nice up - down tilt to it which works good on my desktop. I was not sure about the curve this monitor has but after a couple of hours use I like it. I checked the monitor for dead pixels or color problems which there is none, also there is no uneven lighting problems around the edges.

I added some pictures but they don't do justice to it 4K video abilities. This monitor looks very good in 4K.

I am using this monitor in its native resolution at 144Hz driven by my MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB Gaming X 8G Graphics Card and it works perfect - no tearing at all just great viewing. I find this monitor with my graphics card to be very fast and responsive.

The only down side to this monitor is its brightness at only 250 Nits, so a true 4K display its not but it sure looks good.

This in my own opinion is a great monitor and a great price. If it last and has no repair problems then I will have a real winner.

Very satisfied and would recommend for a great buy.

We did a lot of research when we decided to upgrade our monitors. So many things to consider and trying to do your research all online can kind of make your head spin! This model didn't have a lot of reviews yet, but really seemed to hit the sweet spot between features and price so we went ahead and took and chance and couldn't be happier!

The screen is HUGE (coming from a 24-inch) and the color settings out of the box are workable to start, although you can tweak them to your liking. No speakers but I almost consider that a plus, since I've never had a monitor with speakers that sounded better than a kid's walkie-talkie. Cannot comment on the Freesync because we don't have the right graphic cards for it.

You can do a quick search to find and install Acer's display widget, which is very nice in that it allows you to change settings on the desktop and includes the option to have different display settings for different programs or games. It also has a built-in split screen setup with several layouts to choose from. That's very handy and with a monitor this size, I use it a lot to multitask.

But even if you don't get the widget, this is probably the first monitor I've owned where the controls do not want to make me pull my hair out. There is a little joystick on the back and it works just as you'd expect it to work. You push in to activate it or select, and you push up, left or right and the option selection moves the same. It's a simple thing but it's really nice to have controls that are intuitive.

I've never had a curved screen, but it's very nice. Between the size, higher refresh rate and the curve, games are VERY immersive and we are enjoying the games we've been playing more than ever because we're seeing a higher level of detail and you really feel like you're in the game as opposed to watching the game on a screen.

The only design complaint was the way the cables go in when you set up is very awkward. This is, however, a one-time frustration and not a daily issue, so it's easy enough to overlook.

I would not hesitate to recommend this monitor to anyone. We love ours!!

Literally the best monitor I ever had!
    • Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2021
Purchased this on April 15th, 2020 and here we are almost 17 months later and this thing was still looking brand new.

Quality was good for the price point, used it for gaming and illustrating/editing. Took awhile to tweak all the settings to get the picture just right. Looked great up until... I moved it off my desk and apparently sat it on the power cable causing it to fall, luckily face down on both top corners. BUT! it still worked. Only with a very dark red line running top to bottom just slightly off center and the display still worked and looked great. And then, it got knocked over again while I was behind my desk doing some cable management. This time, it was not so lucky and fell into the corner of something on the desk. There is now a good 4" damage/black spot and a black bar running top to bottom.

The base.... is horrible. Aside from the weird joystick setting/power button deal, the base is my ONLY con with this monitor. Although inline with most other brands, it really just has no material to it given how much weight its holding. Went out and bought a similiar Dell model with a huge, heavy duty base that looks way better honestly, but I'll still miss my first curved wqhd monitor... Farewell ol' friend...

4.0 out of 5 stars Bought with -$150 Prime Day Sale
Reviewed in Canada on November 5, 2020
I saved a decent chunk of change by buying this on Prime Day. For the regular price, I still think this would be a great monitor and you will certainly see the difference if coming from a <25inch 60Hz monitor. The curve isn't really noticeable but I'm sure if I had the same model but flat in next to it I would prefer this slightly curved model. One con is the brightness, I haven't been able to match it up in brightness/contrast with my other 144hz monitor from Acer. It just can't achieve the same brightness as that cheaper 144hz monitor could, which sucks. This is only annoying if I'm gaming with the blinds open, with them closed/at night the brightness is all anyone needs. I was thoroughly surprised by how much bigger the monitor was than I thought it would be. Overall, I returned a monitor bought a month ago that was ultrawide 144hz from a cheap Chinese manufacturer, and now buying this monitor I can definitely see why buying from a trusted brand matters. Also, ultrawide is a gimmick and is only useful in video editing or various other workspace tasks, games rarely fully support ultrawide, and more than not it hinders your experience rather than benefits it. An example of this is Valorant, forcing a 16:9 aspect ratio. So if your like me and deciding between and ultrawide and a bigger 16:9 monitor, definitely get this!

2.0 out of 5 stars Went through two of these
Reviewed in Canada on November 17, 2020
Received the first one, and from the get go there were a few dead pixels upon turning it up for the first time. A couple of days in, it stopped working and would not connect to any of my devices (via HDMI, and/or DisplayPort). I received a replacement and this time there were no dead pixels, however within a few days an issue developed regarding the connection via DisplayPort to my Macbook Pro. It seems to be very finicky when I wake my MPB from sleep mode, the monitor will turn on for a couple of seconds, but won't always recognize that it connected to the MBP (even though the monitor wakes up from sleep mode). It displays a "no signal" message and goes back into sleep mode. I have to unplug and plug back in the MBP a few times to get it to actually wake. This seems to happen most often when I wake my MBP from sleep mode after a few hours of off screen time. Even though it eventually recognizes the MBP, it is still very annoying and frustrating to have to unplug and plug back in several times. When it is working though, it looks and feels great. The HDMI port has no issues and I have that connected to my Xbox, playing games on the monitor is definitely a difference with 120hz, 60fps.

Bought this Screen a year ago. Came in with lines appearing at the bottom of the screen (it covers the whole taskbar in windows). It's still on warranty, but I would have to cover the price of the packaging AND shipping... Which amounts to half the price of the screen to get it exchanged.
      It really sucks.
It is a good screen, but this alone means that I'm stuck with a dud screen unless I'm willing to pay 200$ CAD just to get it replaced.

**One week update, monitor started developing dead pixels within a few days. Rating has been adjusted.**

This review is for the 32" AcerED323QUR, 1440P which I purchased on Prime day for $359.

This monitor replaced my 25" 1080p 240hz TN panel, since I no longer play FPS games competitively. Decided to opt for a larger monitor for casual play, and I'm glad I went for 1440p for 32". The pixel density matches 1080p at 24".

I can definitely notice a difference coming from 240hz 1ms, but its marginal, and a non-issue for most games. I also like that it's G-sync compatible at 120hz.

Note, since this monitor is not too popular, it might take some times to calibrate the colors to your liking, especially without a tool.
