I'm quite happy with my purchase of this 24" 144hz monitor from Acer. There's nothing to complain about from a visual perspective- the color is bright and full and the 144hz refresh rate is great for competitive fps gaming. Unfortunately this display can not be raised, lowered, or tilted so if you want to have better control over the monitor you need to purchase a mount. However, I do not mind this lack of flexibility especially for the price- the lowest I could find for a 24" 144hz monitor. Overall, if you are in need of a 144hz monitor for a budget build this is the monitor you should get.

I wanted to try this on sale at $180. I really wasn't impressed too much.

Just to justify this review. 3/5 IMO is a fair score against other 144hz monitors, it does the job for very entry level into the market. But and a big BUT, for the last 4 years I have used a BenQ 24'' and that has been superb. I was looking to try to upgrade to a 27'', and I have to say I did not do my due diligence of research. Running a 27'' at 144hz had its issues for me, it is more natural to run this at 1440p, but at 1080p (even after reading forums and adjusting settings) it felt like I was experiencing an immense amount of ghosting and for games, especially PUBG, it wasn't producing a clear image.

Granted this could just be me experiencing issues with my set up, but I have never had problems with BenQ. I will be going BenQ 27'' G-Sync instead. I would recommend a 24'' BenQ instead of this but it is (when this is not on sale) $100 more. As I said in the beginning a decent entry level 144hz monitor

For those of you who are looking for a budget gaming monitor at a really low price, go somewhere else. This monitor is not for you. If you're on a budget, but you're willing to spend a little extra, this monitor is for you. It may lack built-in speakers and it may be too bright for your liking, but for a monitor that has a 1080p resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, it's worth the $200 price tag. The only problems it has are the ones I mentioned before and its stand. You can't adjust its height nor can you adjust its angle much. What you can do is mount it on your wall. Though of course that doesn't come with it for free. Still, it's worth the buy. Compared to the tv I used to have my Xbox One connected to, this monitor made my games look way better. There was definitely a difference. At least for me. Maybe I thought that way after hearing about how good it is and thought it was super amazing because of that. Even so, buying this for a gaming rig that can't run games at 144 fps is still worth it because in the end, you won't end up having to spend a ton on a new monitor that has a 144Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution when you decide to upgrade. Unless you want a resolution of 1440p or you plan doing 4K gaming.

This monitor is amazing! One of the best purchases I have don't in a while. The monitor reaches its 144 Hz only when using the DVI (white) cable and will not reach it with the a standard HDMI cable. The screen is clear and even lit for the best color!

My only downside is the screen is really bright. It was made for 3D, yeah that thing that was hyped up for a year or two, then died completely. Apparently when using the 3d glasses they make the screen look darker so Acer just upped the brightness a lot. Honestly, unless you're looking at white pages (like the internet) you'll be fine with some other light source or window. The colors seem to be really good (yet to be truly seen until I get some IPS monitors) and the view angle from side to side is also actually quite good. It's not the 178* of IPS but it would work for a triple screen setup. The vertical view angle however is less tolerant, noticeably color shifting with vertical movements, but that's pretty much all TN panels. I suppose the base is a bit wobbly, but since I've refinished my desk it's super sturdy and not a problem. For an El Cheapo monitor, it does everything as advertised and that's really what I bought it for. It has a VESA mount, which is paramount for some people, it does do true 144hz and comes with a DVI-D Dual link cable so you don't have to worry about that either. For anyone wondering you need to use the DVI cable to get the 144hz, HDMI and VGA, both of which are also present, will not go above 60hz.

It's big. It's 144Hz. It's 1ms. Be nice if the stand would go up and down a bit. I'd like to raise the thing and inch or two but can't. Due to desk constraints I can't even put a book under the stand. Also, there does seem to be some motion blur but for $260 for a 27" monitor it's going to be hard to beat.

I "upgraded" from a 60hz IPS monitor to this one.
The 144hz/120hz mode is amazing. All my games are smooth as glass, I can't believe I've been running 60hz this whole time. Once you go 144/hz or 120hz you will not want to go back.

The only problem I have is going from a IPS screen to this one, the colors are just not the same, but once you're eyes get used to it, it's not much of a big deal. I have them next to each other in dual screen setup, so the difference is obvious.

For the price this is an amazing screen. The brightness is great for 3D gaming.

EDIT: As it turns out, the monitor was not the problem. It was a bug with Microsoft Office that took me days of forum searching to figure out. Now my review has changed drastically. The screen looks fantastic, no skipping frames, everything works as it should. The only con is that you cannot adjust the height of this monitor with the stand that comes with it (but I'm sure there is an alternative one you could buy somewhere).

The monitor was great when I first bought it, but now a few weeks later, it crashes every hour or so. The screen goes black for a few seconds before returning back to normal. My PC doesn't do this with a TV screen or other monitors, so I know this monitor is the problem. Really feel like this monitor could be great if it hadn't been shipped defective.

I have had this monitor for over a year. Gaming with it is great. There was a time where people said the human eye could not see more than 60 FPS, well I assure you, it can. From my personal experience, there is a noticeable stutter below 80 fps (sorry 240 FPS owners). This monitor appears to be decent quality and of decent size. My largest complaint is that I have noticed that there is significant color loss along the bottom of the monitor. I am a gamer, but I also do UI Design and if I make a full sized image of one color it will look like I have created a gradient from the top to bottom (refer to the photo). Other complaints to consider, when turning it on there is a long time before it is ready to go (it shows various splash / loading screens) and the stand is not adjustable (you may be able to tell in the picture that I have it stacked on books). I bought this monitor on sale for $170 in November 2015, but I would have probably gone with an ASUS for more money in hindsight.
