There's a Back key of course, and a Home key. These are probably the most frequently used ones for me! Other dedicated keys are:
Increase Volume, and Decrease Volume.
Stop/Play/Previous/Next track keys
Unlock (to wake the tablet from sleep)
Menu key (to access in-app menus).
The rest of the keys are standard keys you'd find on any regular keyboard. There are 80 keys all up, including the Apps Launch keys and there's even a blank key. They say the blank key has no function. I guess there'll be some hackers out there who would wanna see what they can do with the blank key, just because it's there!
There's a battery indicator light that supposed to flash red if the battery is low (my batteries are fresh)
And a Connector indicator. This flashes blue for 5 secs when the keyboard is turned on, then flashes blue until the keyboard is paired (up to 3 mins). If it's searching for a paired device it remains blue for up to 5 secs.
I tried it in a few apps, like music player, including volume control, Docs to go, where typing was pretty easy, and Opera browser.Read more ›
Other issues I also have is the lag issue, though there are too many variables to take into account such as: Is it just a common issue that most bluetooth keybaords have, since sometimes when you press a letter it doesn't appear and other times it puts in multiple letters on it's own. Other than that the only other qualm is that the natural pitch of the keybaord is a little to subtle so i find myself haveing to constantly prop it up to make it comfy for me (since it also is too thin).
And nothing comes close, I have no lag time between keystrokes and it showing up on the screen of my Iconia.
Navagtion is seamlessly flawless using the arrow keys although I still prefer to use my mouse for this but to each his own, I can see where if your mouse wasn't avaliable this would be a deffenent plus.
Sync is also flawless and quick, I didn't have to make my tablet discoverable in order for it to be found.
As I have had to do with most of the others I tried it didn't take 3 seconds for it to be sync with my tablet and maybe 10 seconds by the time I entered in my sync code and I was up and running.
As one reviewer said the connect button could be a little eaiser to push with your fingers, My fingers are not big and I had trouble with it, So even though they tell you not to use a pen to do it, "DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK" I used a closed pen to gently push in on the button to get it to start sending it's signal to my tablet, I had to use a lot less force using my closed pen then I would have had to if I would've forced my finger into the hole where the button is to get it to activate.
As for one reviewer saying it was a little laggy on their Galaxy Tablet, I would say that's more then likely because this keyboard was specifacally designed and optimized for use with the Iconia line of Tablets.
While it may work in general with any android tablet do not expect it to work perfectly on a tablet other then the one it is designed for.
Overall a "FANTASTIC" product and a great addition to anyones Iconia Tablet that would rather use a actual keyboard then to try to type a long Email or what have you on the built in screen keyboard.Read more ›
