Top customer reviews
I purchased this monitor like many others must have because of the Cyber Monday deal. $90 for an 24" IPS monitor seemed like a steal. The reviews from others left me confident that this was a good purchase, and I am very happy with the picture and color this monitor puts out. Next to my older Acer H213H, you can see a huge difference in color and brightness. As other reviewers pointed out, this monitor is not perfect. The stand can be considered a bit on the weak side. However, I do not see my monitor "shaking" all the time from typing or anything of that manner. And the buttons are indeed not labeled, which makes it a bit of an adventure when first figuring out how to use the buttons, but it's pretty simple once you realize that what the buttons do gets displayed on the monitor menu. I have played a couple games to test out this monitor, and the color and response are great. Bottom line is that if you want a no frills monitor that has a great display, this is it, especially if you plan on mounting this on some sort of Vesa mount because that would eliminate the biggest weakness of this monitor, the stand. If you want a nicer looking monitor, then spend the extra few bucks. If you want the most bang for your buck color and performance wise (which is what really matters in a monitor honestly) then this is the deal for you.
Image provided shows the washed out older model versus this monitor, side by side with same picture, no changes in factory settings for either.
I had no problems hooking it up to my PC with a Display-Port to HDMI cable, purchased separately. This monitor comes with a VGA cable, but who wants to use those any more.
What I don't like about the stand is I have no idea how I'd ever get it off the monitor if I needed to (like if I want to mount it on a better stand). I was able to snap the stand onto to the back of the screen without too much difficulty, but it seems thoroughly stuck there now. If there's a button release, I can't feel it with my fingers.
Also the unlabeled buttons are pretty silly. How much could it cost to print some words on it? But if you push the buttons, it gives you prompts on the screen, so after a bit of fiddling you can probably figure out what they do without the manual.
The picture quality is very good, no complaints there.
IMO its a bright, sharp & vibrant display for "normal" use, mine had no dead pixels or lines & have it set @ 60 bright / 50 contrast right now.
Its on a sturdy wooden desk using keyboard tray, so little/no vibration carries to desk/monitor. Could see monitor would wiggle more than most in less stable settings, if that's your use then would pick another/spend more. Otherwise maybe fine if using VESA arm or trying to snag $20 or so (used?) VESA replacement stand. Likely Acer uses the same display + electronics in other slightly pricer models.
Bottom line very happy so far with this monitor in my use setting. Time will tell though.
Picture quality is very nice and I haven't found any dead pixels.
At current prices (not cyber Monday) I'd bet the other monitors in the price range are better just because of the stand.
I'm going to try and create a stabilizer of some sort to deal with it but it's pretty annoying.
