9 Month Update: Purchased on August 2018. The All In One last week started to shut down by itself and then try to reboot. I made sure that it was up to date, ran Windows troubleshooting, nothing showed up. Yesterday the computer essentially bricked itself. It wont power up, just shows the Acer splash screen, beeps and then powers down. It does this randomly by itself. Contacted Acer warranty support, was told it might be a hard drive failure. It appears that I will have to pay for the return shipping to have it repaired according to the fine print on the warranty. Brings to mind the proverb "All that glitters is not gold". Truly disappointed with this purchase and outcome.
We have been dealing with this computer for about 3-4 months now and it continues to make me feel like throwing it through the wall. I timed it today to see how long it would take to double click an excel spreadsheet on the desk top and actually load it to the point where I could read it. No BS it took over a minute before I could read and edit the damn document. It really made me feel like I was back in the days of windows 95. I have ran virus scans, malware scans, and everything else under the sun and everything comes back clean. This thing is just FRIGGING SLOW!!!!! Go find something else with better reviews and better processing power this thing will make you pull your hair out.
I will have to tinker and uninstall the bloat ware and perhaps that will help
The amount of time wasted just waiting for the UR12's to boot up is incredible. But everything they do is slow. They are absolutely not with it.
The two "slower" "older" "cheaper" versions (the ACKi5) of the computer do work well. It's hard to believe they are made by the same company.
The customer service/technical support is not the best either. Rather than standing by their products and making it easy to get help, Acer outsources its tech support and you have to go through this long, involved process just to get on the phone with someone. Once you get to the technician phase, the people are at least competent. But at each step of the process along the way you have to give all the information you've given the past step over again. And if you have to ship your computer out to one of their repair facilities it's expensive and time consuming.
As for the configuration without a keyboard, it is amazing and you'll be used to it in no time. If you have 8GB RAM, you can use the windows voice to text software and talk to it without typing. It feels like a giant phone or i-pad but with an amazing giant screen, a full-capacity windows machine with a monster battery. You really can watch movies for about 4.5 hours before
