I am extremely pleased with the performance of this monitor. I bought this monitor for my new ASUS desktop computer and hooked it up thru an hdmi to dva cable. I researched the reviews carefully before purchase online. I was a little worried that some reviewers complained about light escaping along the edges in IPS monitors and also missing pixels but so far I have not noticed either problem on mine. I would have given it 5 stars but for the hidden adjustments under the right bottom which I found to be very difficult to operate. The stand was very sturdy and easy to assemble and adjust the tilt.

I purchased this monitor to replace an HP 23 bw monitor that has developed LCD panel issues like horizontal reddish lines on the right side of the screen and image burn-in. That monitor was a 1080p IPS LED backlit monitor just like this one, but is a 23 inch monitor instead of a 24 inch monitor like this one is.

This monitor handles anything that's thrown at it very well. Doesn't matter if it's a movie, an old TV program, games, photos, or graphics. I'm very impressed with its picture quality.

I tested the Overdrive settings on both "Normal" and "Extreme" and found out it only results in annoying colored motion blur artifacts called "inverse ghosting" on the edges of every object in a game for instance. I found that it is best to turn off Overdrive and that when it is off, motion blur is really only noticeable when you specifically look for it and it doesn't get any worse as you turn down the brightness setting, even down to zero.

The one negative about this monitor is the on-screen menu. It isn't as user-friendly as on the other monitors I own, but I know it will become easier to use as I start to get used to how it works. I only had to do some fiddling with the presets to set it to the "User" presets and tweak the color controls slightly to get the best picture quality. I feel that a less than ideal on-screen menu isn't enough to take a star away.

It is possibly the best deal for a monitor on the market right now given that this monitor is on sale for $130. You don't see many IPS displays that perform well in this price range. I'd recommend this monitor to anyone who needs a 1080p monitor that performs well.

I really have come to like this monitor a lot. It was definitely a good upgrade from the LCD monitors that I had before. The screen is large, borderless, and produces bright, vibrant colors. Pixelation is hard to notice on the screen even with its size. Here are some things to keep in mind:

Pros:
- Large screen
- Borderless trim
- Brilliant display
- The unit is very thin

Cons:
- When viewing dark videos, pictures, or games in a dimly lit room, you can see the backlight bleed through the screen in the corners. For games, that really sucks, but I do like to play with my game brightness up quite a bit, so it's not such a problem for me.
- There is no VESA mount capability.
- The inputs on the back face outward, not downward. If you want to put this up against a wall, depending on the firmness of your input cable, it's going to prevent you from getting too close the the wall. I much prefer my inputs to be facing down to save space and look less awkward.

This is, by far, the best 1080p monitor I've experienced, especially at its price. It punches WAY above its weight, and in my opinion, blows all of the competition out of the water. I'm running a dual monitor setup, with this Acer replacing my former primary monitor, a similarly-priced 21" 1080p HP. The colouring and vibrancy seems to be slightly better on the HP, but the larger display and comparable quality of this Acer absolutely outweighs those traits, in my opinion. I WILL be buying another one in the future to pair with this one!

Bought this monitor to replace my 2013 22" Viewsonic which wobbled when I typed. A new monitor stand was $40 and a new monitor was $120, so I decided to just upgrade my monitor and get this Acer.

Unfortunately, I discovered to my great disappointment that this monitor wobbles a fair amount during typing as well. So the purpose of purchasing this monitor is defeated.

As for the picture quality - The brightness and contrast are dialed all the way up to gazillion. I had to drop them to 40/40 just to get a halfway decent viewing experience. Furthermore, despite all the fidgeting with the monitor settings, I couldn't get this monitor to display as well as my 2013 Viewsonic!

The only pro is the value for money that you get. I believe this is the best priced IPS LED monitor in the market right now. But I'd advise you to spend a little more and go with some other brand.

Picture is gorgeous.

Still can't figure out how to get the sound to work. It's been 3 days with no sound. I've gotten by, but the tiny little buttons, on the bottom where we can't see, don't seem to do what on-line instructions I found said they would.

If you want a good laugh, you can Google the problem of getting the sound/audio to work, and I'm not the first nor only. There's even a YouTube video of some guy explaining by "talking" about how to do it, and several comments from people: "But, we can't hear you!!!!". I couldn't either!

Great monitor! I even received compliments from two different nerd-friends on how small the bezel (part surrounding the pixel display) is. I will definitely be buying another one of these when I have a big enough desk to accommodate 2 of them. I was worried when I read other reviews about some backlight bleeding, but I haven't noticed that yet working in both dark and light screens.

Fun fact: In a new MS Excel spreadsheet on this huge monitor, I can see all the way to column AD and row 43.

After several years my existing monitor of a different brand but same size developed dark corners and then just quit altogether. I was happy to see that the Acer R240HY bidx offered the same size screen. This screen has the added bonus of only about a .25 inch edge on the top and sides.
I was really surprised that the stand is rock solid. The display also tips forward up to 5 degrees and back up to 15 degrees. There were no dead spots at all. There is no noticible glare. I did need to reduce the brightness down to about 50%.

The main reason that I almost didn't buy this monitor is the low price. I had no experience with the Acer brand and I was sure that I would have to spend $200 or more to get the quality I was looking for. This monitor fast enough for all my uses, the colors are true and text is easy to read.

Excellent monitors! Bought 2 odd them month ago to use for day trading the market. These replaced 3 10 year old 21 inch monitors that has all these years....were top of line Samsung's back then. These IPS screens are amazing! Are clear, bright and amazing screen details, and from most any angle, as advertised. After having these, at this great price, wonder why did not do this long time ago. Only negative is that there in no VESA attachment on back of monitors to mount. That is a minor drawback though, and the link below describes how a company is making an adaptor now! A huge record buy for all.

After using a 17" square LCD monitor for 10 years, I decided it was time for a new wide screen monitor. Because there is very little bezel at the top and sides, this monitor takes up less space than other so-called 24" models. The matte finish is just what I wanted, and colors seem very true. The only con is the difficulty adjusting brightness, etc. with the tiny buttons on the bottom of the screen. I haven't noticed any light spots on dark backgrounds that several had mentioned. In fact, the picture is perfect in my opinion.

As usual, the packaging was very protective of the screen, and shipping was fast. I am pleased with both the product and Amazon.
