How to use:
1. In every game you need to set the max frame rate to the max refresh rate of your monitor minus 1 or 2. (ex. 60hz -1 = 59 max fps in game). This will ensure that your game never exceeds the max refresh rate of your monitor, if it does NVIDIA control panel ((V-Sync)) will be enabled which greatly increases lag.
2. Turn off ((V-Sync)) in game. You do not need in game ((V-Sync)) enabled when you have G-Sync enabled. Leave it enabled in the Nvidia control panel! Dont ask why this is a thing, just do as I say.
3. You must use display-port. G-Sync only works on display-port there is no way around it. Also if the included cable is not long enough you must order a high quality display port cable of a longer length. Do NOT cheap out!!! Spend like 15-25 dollars on a nice longer one.
4. Make sure G-Sync is enabled in the Nvidia control panel. You can test to see if it's working with their pendulum test program you can download for free from the Nvidia website.
5. There is no G-Sync light on this monitor. (Just a heads up for noobs like my self)
Thats it. I wish I would have known this when I bought this monitor and I hope I helped at least one person out.
No customers that forks over $400+ should have a brand new monitor with a dead or stuck pixel. I get it, there are more pixels and they're getting tiny, but there is no excuse for this. I rather spend another $100 to make sure my monitor will arrive without defects. I advise everyone to do a color test on their monitors before they keep it and if it has a problem, send it back. Hopefully if we do it enough times, Amazon would stop supporting sellers with defective products. I feel terrible that this is costing Amazon money.
When I first received this product it worked great. Since JUN 27TH, 7:21PM after owning the product I have had an issue with the aspect ratio. The screen pixels will not line up, half of them will be raised and the other half lowered. Also about a 4mm with the strip is removed from the center of the screen vertically and is generated on the far right side of the screen vertically. No matter how many times I restart the screen this will not go away. The only solution I have found is to change the Aspect Ration from either 1:1 to Aspect or Aspect to 1:1 the opposite setting. Normally I would not care about a simple issue like this however, it seems to be happening more frequently(at least once every three days).
I was pleasantly surprised by this Acer monitor in contrast. It isn't only bigger, its picture quality, for whatever reason, seems superior to me too. So it came down to the refresh rate as I didn't find myself significantly disadvantaged by the overall quality of what I was seeing. 240hz from 165hz probably isn't as big of a jump in effect as 144hz from 60hz but the difference is there. I don't have the precise terms to describe it but if you thought 144hz is the human limit for perceiving smooth motion you're simply mistaken. It's one thing to not want to spend the money for a monitor like this, it's something else to incorrectly claim there is virtually no difference.
If you have a serious mindset for competitive first person shooters I don't think you'll regret buying this monitor. In the future I'm inclined to stick with Acer as well. G-sync is too important for multiple reasons to favor BenQ (by capping your frame rate at 237 you can play any game more or less free of tearing and with seemingly negligible to no extra input lag), which like Asus doesn't have a 27-inch version of 240hz. This is the one 240hz monitor at a good size for me, with a good picture, G-sync, and without an obnoxious Republic of Gamers tax with anything but a justification for it. Well done.
By the way, the regular price is $680. Don't buy over it.

Edit: had to do a replacement. I got bad lightbleeding. Will redo review once the new one arrives.
Its been awhile but i wanted to make sure it was fine. It was working great for a few weeks and then it out of the blue, or should i say red... a pixel in the middle of the screen went red, and then it corrected itself for a few days and has since stayed red. So.. i dont recommend this monitor at all, stay away. 2 bad monitors in a row says enough about this one.
165fps 1440p GSYNC 1ms response time......
What more do you have to say at this price...
The color is decent for a TN panel after doing a full calibration but as always with TN the color is best straight on. Biggest negative about color is the matte finish which is quite visible on some colors but not bad enough to ruin editing or gaming experiences.
Performance is outstanding. I am running a super overclocked gtx1070 water/hybrid cooled with a 6700k, 16gb ram and Samsung 950ssd. I generally leave the monitor in 144hz normal mode to reduce heat very slightly. 165hz is only beneficial in games I can hit 140+fps.
Assassin's Creed Origins runs around 80fps on ultra settings and looks stellar as far as color, contrast, latency and 0 fragmenting or lost frames. My OLED tv has better color and contrast but feels less responsive in the moment.
While doing visual design work I do wish the monitor had some deeper blacks but overall after calibration most colors are accurate enough to compare to AMOLED device screens. IPS might be a good choice if you do major visual art, as the srgb mode doesn't feel accurate on this panel.
The best part about this beast is the physical chassis, it looks high quality and fits any gaming setups easily. Integrated USB 3.0 hub and cable management is very slick for my sit stand desk as I need all the cable management I can get. Tilting, rotating and raising/lowering the monitor can be done with one finger and has a fantastic range on all movements including 90° rotation while coding.
Super slim bezels blend right into my other 2 monitors and I personally like some kind of lip at the bottom.
I use the display port for my desktop and the hdmi when I need to use my laptop on the desk and having all cabling included was a gracious surprise!
Easily the best gaming monitor I've owned, 10/10
Respectable for editing but TN panel lacks true color, 8/10
Low latency for all daily tasks and makes browsing fun, 9/10
I also expected the difference between 1080 60hz and 1440 144hz to be a little more noticeable. I plan on running some tests with monitors side by side, but really don't feel like I noticed much the first time using it.
Upon the replacement arrival I opened the box and plugged the monitor right away to see if there's something wrong and to my surprise there was. The power light would turn on but the monitor stayed completely unresponsive with a black screen. By black screen I mean literally not turned on or displaying anything. No matter what I did, switching cables, switching outputs, nothing worked. I contacted Amazon again and I asked for a refund which they agreed to. Overall my experience with the Amazon Customer Service team was great, but this whole experience with the Acer Predator XB24YU monitor was terrible. I don't think I will ever buy an Acer product again. It's kind of sad because the actual stand for the monitor is really solid.
Before you think of buying this monitor, consider that I was not the only person that had 2 monitors go bad. There was a customer above who also had 2 monitors go bad but with different issues than mine. Overall, if you want to buy it, do so at your own risk. There are better monitors out there in my opinion.
