UPDATE: As of 1/15/19, this monitor is now G-Sync compatible and is certified as such by Nvidia.

Pros:
- Arrived in perfect condition, no stuck or dead pixels
- Looks amazing and has a very low response time
- rich colors, looks fine from weird angles
- inexpensive considering what it is

Cons:
- Not a standard mount, you have to buy an adapter to use with another mount
- speaker quality is terrible, worse than my phone. Recommend headset or independent speakers.

Excellent monitor for both gaming and office use. Monitor is well built arrived in perfect condition. Monitor comes with a few settings off but every tv and monitor is more then likely not set to your specific taste when you first get it anyways. To clarify some confusion on which cable to use. HDMI 2.0 and above does support 1440p@144hz. However for anyone who uses gsync which yes is supported for this monitor certified by nvidia it will not work unless you use the displayport cable. Meaning on HDMI it will be at 1440p@144hz but without gsync on. When you use the display port cable it will automatically enable gsync. To verify its on open the nvidia control panel on the left you will see a enable gsync tab. Everything will already by check but you can verify its on. The bezel is a gun metal red and its classy and not to bright. Doesnt distract at all. Monitor tilts but no up and down movement. Just know what your buying before you buy it and you wont be dissapointed like a lot of these other reviews that seem like they didnt do research before buying something. There is no vesa mount support so if your plan is to use one or in the near future use on it will not work. I can promise any gamers that for the money to value it is well worth it. Anyone who games I can also tell you that if your going from 60hz to 144hz you will never go back. Excellent purchase. Highly recommend.

EDIT: DO NOT use the setting in the monitor called super sharpness without extreme cooling on cpu. I have a 120mm AIO liquid cooler and it cause my cpu temps to spike well higher then they ever should have with that setting on. with it off im back into the mid to high 40's. Use caution when turning this setting on.

Blanks out often using freesync (Common issue in forums)

Doesn't seem to really support freesync with display port. tried upgraded drivers and beta drivers, cables and different video card and still the screen blanks out for a couple second all the time while trying to play a game. Google it as it's all over the internet. Wish more reviews had it and I would have avoided ordering it and now returning it. HDMI works but will only go to 60hz with hdmi. Something is wrong with this monitor's support of freesync based on the many many forum posts from lots of people. Also a green stuck pixel kept coming up. Am I the only reviewer who actually tried to use freesync and display port for higher than 60hz refresh on this model? Check another brand if you really want freesync.

My roommate bought one of these and he loves it. I got one for myself after sending back two bad monitors of another brand. Alas, this Acer I got had a stuck pixel out of the box. Sent it back and hoping the next one looks good (4th time's a charm?) Aside from the pixel the picture on this was pretty great.

update: replacement unit was initially displaying nothing but colored vertical stripes. Swapped some cables and it displayed correctly so I'm not sure if it was just a matter of swapping the DP cable or if it figured itself out after warming up,but it STILL had a stuck pixel. Maybe 3rd time is a charm.

I've been using it for about and hour and a half now and so far I love it. The brightness was a bit high and the colors not that good out of the box but I was able to tune it to the point where it looks pretty close to my previous ips monitor. Here are the settings I used.
OSD:
Brightness: 50
Contrast: 50
Black Level: 2
Super Sharpness: On
Gamma: 2.4
Color Temp: Normal

nVidia Control Panel:
Saturation: 105

So far there are no dead/ stuck pixels and it is showing no signs of burn in.
The monitor itself is beautiful. The matte finish and faux metal stand looks awesome and the matte screen is amazing too. The spring loaded height adjustment is weighted perfectly, I tried adjusting it before putting the screen on and it was fairly hard to move but once I put the screen on I can adjust it with one finger. Assembly was very easy and so is disassembly, to remove the screen from the stand there is a button underneath that you press and lift the monitor away. I tested the 144hz capabilities playing some csgo and it is noticeably soother then 60hz, unfortunately I can't attest to the freesync capabilities since I only have a 270X which isn't freesync compatible. The OSD requires a little getting used to and I had to read the manual to learn how to navigate it. Also a weird little thing I found is that when you enable one of the modes (game mode for instance) when you turn that mode back off it reverts to the default settings and you have to manually adjust it again, there may be a way to save your settings but I haven't found it yet. I haven't tested the monitor speakers but according to all the other reviews they are terrible. It's also a pretty heavy monitor so be aware of that in case it's an issue. For me it's a positive because with the old monitor it would always wobble when I typed, not anymore. Overall I really love this monitor and it was worth every penny.

So far, very pleased with this monitor.

Tested it g-sync-compatible with nvidia drivers 419.35 (Gaming-ready-driver) and 419.67 (Creator-ready-driver), with my GTX 1080. So far, not a single glitch. G-sync compatibility seems to work perfectly well with this driver, no flickering or tearing at all. Guess buying a monitor that is listed as officially supported by NVidia pays off.

Notes: in case anyone is wondering, in order to make g-sync work on this monitor, Displayport 1.2 must be used (no HDMI support as of this review).

The screen is good, it works very well with nvidia G-Sync. If you do a bit of research it is listed as compatible by Nvidia as well.

You all know the good (high refresh, resolution.. etc.)

Here's why 4 stars:

1) the colors are pretty washed out, this was expected given the refresh and price, but i notice it and it still bothers me. The blacks are not that nice, contrast is decent at best. Not sure if it can be fixed with calibration.
2) No VESA mount. This pissed me off to no end, i had to buy some 3rd party one and while it works it's fairly flimsy and annoying to set-up because it has to mount at the bottom of the screen. So you can imagine the torque on that little piece.

Otherwise, it's great for gaming, i run this on a 1070Ti and i get over 100fps in most games. The high refresh is amazing, if you're coming for 60Hz, your mind will be blown. You will 100% notice this and never be able to go back to 60Hz again.

If you're a resolution junky, want to experience the incredible quality HDR brings to image quality, have the gear to drive this puppy (no less than Nvidia 2080TI as of posting this review), and want to experience 4k in frame rates higher than 60fps - this is the monitor for you. You are an early adopter and in addition to all the qualifiers above, can pay for this luxury.

It's not all roses, though. Asus (and the panel manufacturer) pushed the envelop with so many ground breaking features, and this being 1st generation of its kind (Acer is the only other game in town - using the same panel technology) - the proverbial corners are a bit rough. Probably the most annoying aspect (in addition to the price) is the fan. This is my only complaint. It is audible. It could have been solved by using high end large fan (even at the expense of a slightly larger case). So that's a miss on Asus' part.

That said, it's worth every penny running Destiny 2 in 4k at very high settings at 80+ FPS. Or other games at even higher FPS while maintaining ultra settings/4k.

If those qualifiers apply to you, but you're still hesitating spending this much money (or want to tick off the 32" size box) - it is definitely worth waiting a year or two. Prices will drop, corners will be rounded, and competitors will emerge.

I did quite a bit of research into monitors before I decided to purchase this one and I have no regrets with it. The jump from 1080 to 1440p is one I recommend to all of my friends because everything looks so much better. I play mainly FPS and Fortnite, and the quality difference has made it impossible for me to go back to 1080p. I also really like that it is an edge-to-edge monitor. I haven't noticed an issue with viewing angles and the speakers are decent, but I rarely use them for that purpose.

The one downfall to this monitor is the lack of stock VESA mounts, but I found one on Amazon and that works brilliantly with this product.

Highly recommend as one of the cheaper options to go to 1440p while maintaining a 144 hz refresh rate.

Habia leido muchos reviews encontrados, unos decina que era muy bueno otros que no tanto, la verdad tuve la suerte de comprarlo en 7100 pesos envio expedito el impuestos incluidos justo 1 dia antes del black friday y llego en 4 dias, simplemente es genial, sin pixeles muertos, el firmware parece ser el que trae el fix de freesync y la calidad de imaen es genial, solo ten en cuenta los siguientes puntos:

- La tecnologia Freesync solo funciona con AMD y solo usando cable Displayport 1.2 de alta calidad, yo compre el Accell de mini display port a display port (mi tarjeta solo tiene 1 DVI y 4 miniDP). No compres un cable corriente display port porque no son VESA compliant y el monitor se va a estar apagando y causando que entre en modo ahorro de energia, el cable costo 280 pesos, algo caro pero vale la pena.

- El color de la parte de abajo y de la base no es rojo, es un poco como naranja fuerte metalico, no es que me importe mucho pues mi computadora tiene colores rojos pero habra a quien no le guste mucho.

- Si usas Displayport para conectarlo, el audio sale tambien por displayport y no requieres conectar el cable de 3.5mm incluido, solo verifica la salida de audio que hay que cambiarla a manita en windows (dos clicks, nada dificil)

Pros:

- La calidad de imagen es muy buena para ser panel TN, diria de las mejores (sin contar paneles IPS claro)
- Windows 8.1 y 10 lo reconocen a la primera y el escalado de la imagen es perfecto
- Si tienes tarjeta AMD, con freesync habilitado se ve genial y no se nota lag en la actualizacion de imagen, de verdad se siente mucho mas fluido.
- Trae bocinas integradas y aunque mucha gente no las ocupa, yo solo uso bocinas del monitor o audifonos y estas que trae son muy buenas para ser bocinas integradas, mejores que muchas teles de 40" u otros monitores que he tenido.
- El marco es increiblemente delgado, y casi llena por completo la pantalla dejando medio centimetro de borde
- En la caja incluye todos los cables necesarios para usarlo, HDMI, DisplayPort (recomiendo comprar uno bueno de Accell certificado) y DVI, asi como su cargador de corriente que es muy similar a los de una laptop (cajita con cable desprendible) y cable de 3.5mm de audio.
- La caja vien bien protegida, el monitor viene perfectamente fijo y sin riesgo de daño.
- Es bastante delgado, como de 1 centimetro y medio arriba y en la parte mas gruesa de abajo cerca de la base un maximo de 3cm
- La pantalla es mate, no de las tipo glossy que brillan mucho y reflejan la luz

Contras:

- Aun esta algo caro en Amazon Mexico, yo tu ve suerte en conseguirlo "barato" pero lo subieron muy feo en el cybermonday, espera a que baje, bien vale los 7000 pesos pero 10000 mas envio no lo creo.
- Es panel TN, no IPS, lo que significa que es muy veloz pero los angulos de vision no son de casi 180 grados, aun asi no tengo ningun problema para verlo bien en el escritorio o si algun amigo se sienta junto a mi. Pero por el precio es muy buena calidad.
- No tiene agujeros VESA para ponerlo en un adaptador de pared o brazo en el escritorio, y su base es fija y no tiene ajuste de casi nada, solo inclinacion al frente y hacia atras muy leve. En lo personal yo no vi ningun problema con ello pues tiene la altura ideal pero por el costo deberia incluir esto.
- La base solo se pone en el escritorio y el monitor se pone sobre ella y ya, sin tornillos sin clips, nada. Esto no me gusto pues da algo de miedo que se vaya a salir o caer si l mueves de lugar pero si queda apretada. Deberian haberle puesto al menos un clip o un mendigo tornillo para fijarla al monitor.

En general estoy muy contento con la compra, lo recomiendo ampliamente aun para gente con tarjetas nVidia ya que por el precio se llevan un panel de 1ms de 144hz y resolucion "2k" 2560 x 1440 con una calidad de imagen bastante buena y a precio razonable comparado con un G-sync.

Mis specs i7 4790k, z97 gaming gt, ram 16gb 166mhz, R9 295x2 y SSD 120gb + 2Tb WD black y 3TB WD purple

So I’m not sure if I love it or hate it! The monitor comes nicely packaged in a stylish box. I ended up buying one used and one new and to my disappointment, the new one upon plugging it in had a few pixels that were dead (green) and you had to tap the screen to have it light up. That shouldn’t happen with a new monitor! The used one was actually in great condition! (Could not tell it was used) and the pixels had no issues. It just worries me that the screen could have such defects out of the box and I’m not ultimately comfortable with long term durability... image is beautiful though at 1440 144hz!
