Ordering them was a minor hassle. For our order, the size chart Amazon provides seems a bit off for women. I am providing a pic of Acorn's chart from the actual product.
I ordered an XL pair last week for my men's size 13 feet and they fit snugly. I thought I could use a little more room so I also ordered an XXL pair but they were way too big and got returned. So, when we went to get a pair for my wife, according to Amazon's size chart, we ordered Large for her size 7.5-8.5 feet. What she got was way, way too big. We have to exchange for XSmall, which will hopefully be just right.
OK, I bit the bullet and ordered a new pair of these in XL. The length is fine, the construction looks OK, but as others have reported, the ankle is now SO tight, they are difficult to get on. The force required is such that it will only be a matter of time before they start to tear. Not mention they are uncomfortable. I've NEVER had this problem with these slipper socks. As I've said in previous reviews, I've been a customer for decades.
Something has happened to ACORN. Their manufacturing has radically declined. It's sad to see a trusted, once American Made product, go down the tubes. I hope that ACORN gets it together and evaluates their quality control. As for now, the brand is unwearable for me.
2/2017 - UPDATE #1 (to my previous review below):
Though I still like this product, I find they are not as durable as they once were. I see others reporting the same issue both here and on the ACORN website. This appears to have coincided with moving manufacturing out of the US. I hope that ACORN takes notice and improves this product and returns to their previous high standards.
1/2014 - I grew up with these and every decade or so I need a new pair. Yes, I said "decade." So pleased that they still make them. The quality remains excellent.
My foot measure a US men's 10.5, I wear 11-12's depending on the shoes (usually 11.5) and these fit perfectly.
Need I say more?
I was hesitant to buy footwear on-line due to not being able to try them on first. My concern was borne out, so this will be the last time that I buy footwear on-line. I find it very disappointing that different widths are unavailable. Now I will now have to continue my quest for a decent pair of slipper socks.
I should say the quality of the product was outstanding. The sock was thick and long. I found the padding to be a little disconcerting but it would probably break in once they were worn for a while. I merely tried one of them on and walked about the living room for a couple of minutes.
As seems to be the norm for Amazon packaging, the box was way too large considering the contents.
Update: The product performed well since I reviewed it; however, it eventually stretched out so that my feet tended to slither around in them. The slightly smaller pair I ordered to replace them when they got tired do not present the issues I mentioned in my first review. This pair fits well, the soles are well mated with the upper sections, and they are comfortable to wear.
