2010 release from Canadian singer/songwriter Valerie Poxleitner AKA Lights, the follow-up to her Juno-nominated debut album the Listening. Rolling Stone called Lights a retro New Wave keytar-rocking pixie, and the Toronto Star declared her as "the very epitome of D.I.Y. pin-up cool." Lights Acoustic showcases a different side of Valerie which emphasizes her dynamic talent. The album features five tracks, including acoustic versions of her hits 'Saviour' and 'February Air' as well as 'River' plus one new song and a cover of Rancid's 'Fall Back Down'.

Lights has a beautiful voice, and it really shows in these 5 songs. She's stripped the music down to just her voice and her guitar, and I'm very thankful she did. I can't stop listening.
Also, it would be nice if Amazon could fix the name of the artist on all of her albums in the mp3 store. This isn't a band called "The Lights", but a girl whose name is "Lights".
If you havent heard the studio version of this song than you seriously have to. First off Valerie's voice is high-pitched, so much so that she doesn't sound her age at all. I dont know what it is about her, it just sounds like an angel which sounds like an exageration, but its true. The strum of the guitar against her high-pitched voice is a contrast, I like that in music. The same thing with her Synths.
2. February Air
I honestley think Valerie wrote this song on the guitar, rather a synth. It could be a lulliby to be honest. I have fallen asleep to her sweet voice before.
3. Fall Back Down.
Fall Back Down is a cover by Rancid its a little more aggresive, I have not heard Rancid perform this song, but I imagine Valerie did put in her own twist as an artist.
This is a large song for Valerie, I think Valerie writes a lot of her songs on the guitar, because she had all the notes perfect.
5. Romance Is...
This beginning is strong, Valerie makes her voice reflect that as well.
I recommend listening to Valeries songs on the Listening, Siberia, and most importantly LIGHTS EP. Definatley to the new listeners.
the one complaint I have about this product is the packaging. It's a simple cardboard slipcase for the CD, and the risk of the CD falling out is rather high. In addition, my copy has a rather large crease and bend in the corner... but that is the only thing about this ep! It is absolutely gorgeous and should be a part of your collection!
