This product was purchased to replace my previous Netgear Push2TV1000 product which did not work for me with my new HP Spectre 360 laptop. The product has simple instructions and I did not even need the USB device that comes with it to connect; however some older laptops may require it. I simply went under device on my laptop and the Actiontech device immediately appeared and I was able to connect! I can connect from an adjoining room to the t.v. (approximately 30-40 feet away) with no problem and the quality is as good as before if not better. I'm very pleased with this device and recommend it highly as a reliable device to remotely and wirelessly transfer computer screen to a television. Now I can watch programming via the Internet from wherever and I just used Amazon's instant video with it and it worked well.

I mainly use this for mirroring movies I play on my computer to my HDTV, and it works exactly as it is described. After watching many hours of digital TV shows, there wasn't the slightest problem with the connection, even with the computer streaming the content being in the basement far away from the TV. Many times I forgot that the video I was watching was steaming from a USB dongle on my PC and i got just enjoyed the show, something that should happen more often with video products.

There is one downside though, it does not connect well to my Nexus 4 over Mirracast. I had to install a beta firmware on the device to even get it to connect, and the firmware took hours to track down on the web. After that the connection was poor quality and the sound was off by about <1/2 second. It made it impossible to even play a YouTube video.

Overall 4 because the site did say that support is on the way and the only bugs I found on the device where on a beta firmware, when the release the firmware with official Nexus 4 support, ill update this review.

0 Stars if I could. I bought 6 of these. I tried installing them on 3 Lenovos and 1 Dell, all running Windows 7 both 32 bit and 64 bit. I followed directions exactly. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, turning off firewall, updated the firmware ....basically everything.
THE TRANSMITTER WILL NOT SYNC OR FIND THE RECEIVER!! So frustrating. I've called "customer service" multiple times. Got someone on the line and they told me to disable the firewall, which I did, then hung up on me. I was on hold forever.

In summation, the product is junk and didn't work on 4 different laptops running windows 7. AND their "customer service" is a joke and nonexistent. Hopefully, I can return these POS.

I ordered this wireless display with some doubts as to it's reliability for it's stated purpose. Some of the reviews appear to have been written by customers who had a completely different experience with the product than I have had. I followed the directions on the installation sheet that came with the product and was pleasantly surprised when the results were spectacular! The download was flawless, installation easy and without any problems at all. I installed it on a Lenovo x201 Thinkpad 12" screen computer that was not WIDI ready. When I projected the screen onto a 32" Sanyo HD television the projected image was flawless. The color was crisp and clear. The image was in focus and I detected no lag at all when watching a movie on NETFLIX. I went on line and downloaded the latest update as the installation sheet suggested and this too was completed without incident I must admit that i am somewhat experienced when it comes to computer programing, however I am confident that an inexperienced novice could install this wireless display easily IF he or she pays attention to the instructions and follows them to the letter, In closing I must say that I would recommend this wireless display without reservation!

I bought this device to be able to mirror my phone/tablet (Android) screen on my TV, as well as an older PC that does not natively support the Miracast protocol. This was the only device that offered this functionality, but I ended up re-selling it.

While in theory the device can manage to do the two aforementioned things, in practice it gets disconnected often and is not without problems (impossible to stream a movie without it cutting off). It is useable if you just need to stream a presentation to a TV or show photos from your phone.

If you just want Android mirroring (or mirroring anything you can open on your PC with Chrome, which now a days is a lot), stay with the Chromecast (which is only $35). At its current price-point I would not recommend this device.

These seem to be a very nice product and definitely worth the price. I upgraded the firmware and downloaded new drivers for the first (5) I bought. The second set of (3) have not been installed yet. The first set were installed in a large training area that takes up most of the first floor of our building. They worked great even when located almost side by side. My only complaint is that if you leave the receiver on for a long time without using it the transmitters cannot connect unless you power cycle the receiver. The receiver doesn't have a power switch so you have to unplug it. I decided to install intelligent plug strips to shut the receivers off when the TV they were connected to was powered down. This means that the receiver comes on when the TV is turned on. I went with the Zuni Digital intelligent strip for about $15.00 on Amazon. The problem of power cycling has gone away. All in all a great product for the price. I would recommend this product for use in conference rooms and training centers.

I have previously purchased a Samsung AllShare Cast Dongle for my Note 2 (I have sold my Note 2 and using Note 8 now). The Samsung dongle is a nice device but it allowed mirror of compatible Samsung devices only.

So I decided to purchase the Actiontec ScreenBeam as it was touted to be compatible with not just Samsung but Works with Miracast-certified mobile devices and PCs, as well as select Windows 7/8 laptops.

Setting up the device took some time but once ready, I was able to painlessly mirror my Note 2 (and Note 8) content to my TV! I could mirror movies and surf the net effortlessly on my TV!

I even tried to mirror my laptop content to the TV via a provided USB dongle and it works fine too. The lag is more apparent but not as bad as I would have expected it to be. Mirroring a movie from the laptop to the TV works quite well and you should not be able to notice the lag. (However, if you view the movie on your laptop and compare it to the mirrored one, it is not in sync, a lag of about a second).

Overall, I would recommend this product to people looking at the Samsung Dongle. Buy this instead! It can do more for a lower price :)

When family and friends gather it is time to show some "home movies and snapshots." Instead of everyone trying to close in around the computer or setting up a wired/HDMI connection at the big screen, you can sit back with everyone else and enjoy SCREENBEAM. I purchased the ScreenBeam with receiver to enable all my computers, WIDI enabled and nonWIDI, to connect as needed to the big screen. Use of the USB is a slightly different process to connect, but either way is a quick and easy way to share your computer screen with others. I downloaded the firmware updates soon after receiving and have not experienced any issues. Note: in order for another device to connect, the device currently connected must disconnect using the device charm. Maybe a future upgrade will enable multiple devices to stay connected and a ScreenBeam device screen will enable selection with CEC remote.

Solved my problem of my laptop not displaying properly with HDMI cable. Much better. Slight lag so not good for gaming.
