Review
Marti's book clearly lays out an agile career vision that will be a must for both early careerists as well as traditional healthcare professionals for delivering better care, lower costs and improved health outcomes. With the growing disruption and disintermediation occurring within healthcare, the medical and health care we all know is being transformed more rapidly than we've ever seen in our lifetimes.
The classic pathway or ladder to success will not be enough to secure future health care opportunities. When mentoring professionals, I strongly stress creativity, out-of-the box experiences and "roads less traveled" to realize their greatest potential. When Marti speaks about careers as "a series of projects", I think of those lists of projects as your new resume. Begin your journey with this book!
--Robert Kuramoto, MD, Physician & Healthcare Executive
The Agile Careerist ideas will inspire and challenge you via tears and laughter all in one wonderful moment of self-realization. Thanks to Marti's insights, you can actively weave together an optimized career of experiences that has a powerful and enduring impact on you, your family, and network of stakeholders.
--Gregory Wade, Global Leader (Fortune 100 Technology), Strategist, Business Builder, and Lifelong Mentor
Marti Konstant understands that you don't have to get trampled by daunting career realities, no matter what your goals, seniority level, or passion. With empathy, humor, and actionable insights, she invites you on a learning and doing journey with agile careerists: people who have turned challenges into opportunities by activating their feedback squads, optimizing their personal brands, and embracing their idea zones.
--Michele Wucker, Best-selling Author of THE GRAY RHINO
Marti has two things for you. First, this is a clear-eyed look at the most critical success factor of all: agility. Second, she gives us a framework of principals and an invitation to look at ourselves and our own ability to adapt. This book will limber up your mind and make you ready for anything that comes next in your career.
--Andy Crestodina, Author of CONTENT CHEMISTRY and CMO, Orbit Media Studios
Marti Konstant nails how to future-proof your career in her forward-thinking book, Activate Your Agile Career. This is a must read for anyone embarking on their journey or needing some inspiration for their next move. The days of working for the same company for most of your life have passed, and this book outlines a clear vision for how you can navigate a world where change is the constant, and adaption is critical. As Marti says, "Dare to be different," and I wholeheartedly agree! Developing your personal brand is one of the most important investments you can make in yourself for your career success.
--Kirstin Falk, Managing Director, Brand Storytelling & Innovation at Charles Schwab

Adapt, change, or get left behind is the main message and what the seven principles teach us in this book. I could not agree more. I started my career as a software engineer writing C code and since then I’ve adapted slowly and constantly been shifting to a very different career that I love.
Each principle includes real life stories and tools to help you. Principle Four is A/B test your career. Meaning constantly check. She gives us fun graphics an A/B easy test and applies it to Susan and Cameron. She tells us to make our agile career more like chess rather than the Game of Thrones. Along the way we learn about Mari as she applied this to her career.
Marti uses her talents to provide graphics that allow us to visualize the concepts. I love the visuals some are very busy. I favor the simpler ones like the Career Brand Process.
It’s inspiring and real. It’s not just for those starting their career anyone at any point can adapt and have an agile career. I’m later in my career and related to Principal Five: Optimize Your Personal Brand. It is a book to read over and over and new gems and inspiration along the way.
I highly recommend giving this as a gift to anyone starting their career!
In 2018 the workplace climate is changing and and changing fast. Marti is invaluable at opening the door to her secrets to successful work relationships, networking, putting your best foot forward and optimizing your personal brand.
I love the idea of creating a "Feedback Squad". Marti says you can be at the top of your game in your field but without asking for feedback from those around you, you can't see how you can take it to the next level. Marti says "You need to be loyal to people, not a company." She goes on to say that she's observed people with strong networks land the contracts and the jobs first. She wish she had known this sooner. This really hit home with me. Its a reminder that your relationships are key not only to your personal life but your professional life as well.
Her advice is applicable and real. I am in a career transition right now and I am putting her words into practice day in, day out. I've already seen a difference in my attitude towards others at work and their attitude back at me. This book has been so very helpful- I can not recommend enough!! I just picked it up for a few of my nieces graduating from college this spring- overall, such an inspiring read!! Thank you Marti- can't wait for your book tour!

This book outlines 7 steps to answer those very questions and to set ourselves up for success in a world of work that involves constant change. I enjoyed the read and have started my "Idea Zone" and looking at pursuing in parallel.
Marti takes her readers through the process of starting and sustaining an agile career, based not on transactional, haphazard, often very disappointing jobs, into a mindful path to creativity, adventure, and true, deep career achievements. I also love the way she makes the read even fun with her simple yet powerful diagrams that anyone can understand and then use to help them get clarity and direction for his or her career.
Marti has taken the time to research, discover, and then provide readers with the tools they need to break the paradigm of the traditional career path. She then invites people into a community of connection and ongoing support to help keep succeeding. I know I want what Marti's created and I am absolutely sure you will too once you read this standout book that I predict will become a staple for thousands who want to live extraordinary lives.
Life is too short to spend 40% of your day doing something that doesn’t stimulate your mind and excite your passions. By following her Career Agility Framework, anyone can learn to follow their inspiration and talent to a new level of career success and satisfaction. Making changes in a career journey can be a terrifying experience, but Marti helps you embrace the journey for the exhilarating adventure that it can be instead. Get ready to create your own idea zones, activate your feedback squads and soar to new horizons!
