It’s a great book, in the sci-fi genre, regarding a first contact story. The book starts throwing you right into the middle of the action and the pace continues strong throughout the story. There are some pretty spectacular battle descriptions and great character development. Sometimes, I felt a bit lost with the amount of technical words used and the dialogues. The speech patterns felt a bit repetitive and unnatural but overall the story is very good. Or I should say the stories, as there are two going on in parallel (one on space and other on Earth). The end is a bit of a let down with many questions unanswered but I hope there will be a sequel to it that would complete the story.
“The Actrix Stone” is incredibly detailed and the fact that there are two authors is almost necessitated as it is would be difficult to comprehend how just one author could come up with this intense and intricate of a story. While I’m still uncertain of this book, there are definitely very good points. I think another read would bring out the intricacies of this story better, and am adding it to my list to re-read.
This is an amazing book. A few chapters are finished before you are used to the vocabulary and terminology of the complex world that the authors have created but it is very rewarding when you pull through. The story captures your attention and most importantly your imagination and in many chapters (especially the battles) you are pulled into the imagery as if you were watching a movie- to the author "the series would make epic movies by the way, look into it!"
I highly recommend it to all sci-fi aficionados but not just them. Do not be intimidated when you feel utterly confused, we all did; but the complex network of characters and the underlay of the story is beautiful to watch unfold and we hope that our dire questions will be answered in the next book that better be ready for publishing really soon!
