I needed a basic Dwell/Tachometer to tune my car from the '60s and this one works just fine. Only complaints are the allegator clips you use to hook the unit to the car are very flimsy. I suspect they will need to be replaced at some point. You need to read the dial carefully. There is no 4/6/8 cylinder switch, so you have to be careful to read the correct scale for your car. So, decent value for the price but not a knockout value.

I had a 30 year old dwell/tac/battery meter just like this that finally wore out. I found this one on Amazon at a great price. It works perfectly, and is ideal for my older cars that use timing lights and have adjustable timing.

Great instrument for simple mechanics. I have a 1964 VW beetle that has the simplest of engines. I just needed something to give me an RPM indicater for tuning at high RPM's. And a dwell so I could know I was tuning at optimume. Also simple tools seem to be the ones that are more reliable and require less maintanance, this one worked like a charm. Instructions were easy to understand.

This is a basic and very affordable tool for anyone that dabbles with classic cars. I was very pleased to find this at a price almost one-half of what other sites were asking for. I have used it only once, but found it necessary and useful.

I bought this to replace the damaged SunPro Dwell/Tach that belonged to my grandfather (who was a mechanic).

This unit is not has "heavy" as the old SunPro because the case is plastic, not metal, but the cable length, dial markings, and switch are EXACTLY the same as the one built in the 1950's or '60's that I grew up using.

I have used this unit to accurately gauge rmps for my 2-cyl motorcycle (even though it doesn't specify use for 2-cyl, just gauge accordingly on 8-cyl scale), 4-cyl cars, and my antique V8's. Setting/measuring the Dwell is easy, accurate, and simple using this meter. Voltage measurements rival any digital meter... and you can see pulses and spikes easily by watching the needle!

If you have a vehicle and do your own wrench-turning, you can't be without this analyzer... especially if you have antiques that have points in the distributor.

This was a gift for my son who recently began restoring a 1961 Mercury Comet, 6 cylinder 170. I sent it to him and he has used it for about two weeks now. He said it works well in all phases and would recommend it to the novice mechanic.

Looked Cheap In The Picture Online. Not Surprized When It Indeed Turned Up Cheap In Person. The Analog Needle Was Frozen In Place, The Instructions Made It Known That Sometimes This Can Occure, But Can Be Resolved By Simply Adjusting The Center Screw And All Can Be Well. Not This One That I Recieved. It Cost About $27.00 After Shipping And Arrived On Time So No Complaints There, Just My Problem With The Manufacturer's Workmanship. Made In China As Usual...

Is a fairly light weight unit, but seems to work OK. The dwell readings on my 4 cyl boat engine seemed to be off quite a bit from what I expected, but as the boat is running fine, I am not fiddling with it any more at this time. Shipped quick.
