I have high expectation on this publication. The quality of printing are not as good as I anticipate. Some photos do not show the detail of vessels. I enjoy the back matter much more.

Tactile, Eye Opening, Round

A great addition to my art library. Ceramics is one of the oldest, and sadly, least celebrated of our archetypical art forms. This book shows that vessels are sculpture on many levels, and much like the highly revered potters of the past, Silverman's work is timeless and important. I am inspired by this exploration of ceramics and form -- it is a great book about one of California's contemporary artists.

A BEAUTIFUL AND UNIQUE BOOK

This book is so beautifully put together. I don't know that I've seen an artist's monograph laid out in such a creative and unique way. The opening shots of Silverman's pots are incredible - so tactile, so rich. And then Katrina Dickson's photos of the artist are perfect. I love how they capture both Silverman at work and his studio space is such a smart, oblique manner. You can practically feel the texture of the clay. Then to come to the table of contents AFTER all the photos was totally unexpected and a delight. Such an unexpected and cool way to lay out a book. I also really enjoyed the interview with Silverman about how he got into pottery. It was great to get a glimpse into how and why it happened the way it did.

Beautiful representation of a great body of work

I've been a fan and collector of Adam Silverman's work for nearly 10 years, and have been longing to see his work published. This book is such a treat for fans of Adam, as well as for fans of ceramics in general. The book is beautifully produced and showcases a great variety of his work in exquisite detail. Luckily, the textural quality of his more recent pots comes through in a rich clarity, and the overall format of the book allows readers to dive into his work immediately (essays are at the end). Adam is not just a potter knocking out bowls and simple vases....he is a true artist who is thoughtful, calculated and uncompromising. This book showcases this in spades. I can't wait to see what he produces in the next 10 years.

The photography in this book is fantastic. Really captured the essence of Silverman's work-- you can literally feel with your eyes. Loved reading on about his practice- quite interesting. Would recommend this to anyone wanting to add on to their art book collection or just having it around as an exquisite coffee table book :)

Adam's ceramics are amazing, and this book does a wonderful job of capturing their visceral textures, subtle shapes, and unique colors. I can't afford a pot of my own, but I can certainly look at this book whenever I want! High quality binding and photography, and and intro by Shepard Fairey too!
