I absolutely love my ASUS tablet and cannot say enough good things about it...EXCEPT for this charger.
I bought this as a spare charger to use at my workplace. Thank goodness I did because these chargers have a tendency to heat up during charging. I have always been a loyal fan of ASUS and love all the ASUS products I have gotten--they always seem very well made. That is why it is a shock to me that ASUS does not have this issue fixed or addressed. Several times I notice the charger got really hot during charging and one day it just suddenly quit on me. Thank goodness I have another charger I could use. I was not very happy at the prospect of yet spending $50 for another charger. Surfing the net, it seems that many people have the same problem with this charger. The recommendation sounds crazy--put the charger in a sealed bag and place it in the freezer for over 30 minutes and then allow it to thaw--this would reset the charger. It sounds absolutely crazy but I figure with the charger dead, I have nothing to lose--and, it worked! The charger is now functioning again. I have never had a similar problem with chargers for any other device of mine. Still I guess it is better for me to have a charger that can be fixed by freezing/thawing than to have a dead charger.
So, overall not too pleased with this charger--the Achilles' heel of my tablet. If not for this, my tablet would be perfect.

This is an original ASUS power supply (USB with 5/15 volt output) and data/charging cable. OEM quality. This fits the ASUS tf-700 tablet.

I really dislike taking business away from Amazon as I am a regular customer online here but, when the geninue ASUS AC adapter goes for $40+ and that I wouldn't exactly trust non-name brand that might fry my beloved tab, I needed to share with my fellow ASUS Eee Pad owners that Office Depot has the original ASUS 'US Adapter Kit' in its little black box, for only $29.95!!! And it even has the long USB cable instead of the shorter one I have heard that came with the original Transformer. I just purchased two, one for backup and one to keep in the office so I don't have to lug the adapter about too.

So, this is not a review per say, just a sharing of information to fellow user.

Thankfully i ordered this from amazon w/circuit city at a price of 29.99. It is wonderful.
NOW for some reason this 'store' wants 49 bucks!???
i ordered model number: 90-OK06AD00020Y from amazon/circuit city.
so i can't vouch for the current one sold by 'Datavision Computer Video' as the right model for the ASUS Transformer (but it is overpriced).

I bought this for one simple reason: to have a travel adapter for my Transformer Prime. I couldn't tell from the product description whether the prongs on this were foldable/retractable, and that was a big concern for me since I like to minimize the footprint of an object in my travel bag (I fly a lot).

It was literally between this and the Amazon Basics adapter, which is cheaper, has folding prongs, yet only seems to have a 5V output.

Scanning the images for this product on Amazon, the fifth thumbnail shows a clear image of the adapter with the prongs folded into the adapter. 'We have a winner!" or so I thought. Then the product arrived and it's a dead copy of the one that shipped with my tablet--the prongs don't fold.

The knock in stars are more for this misrepresentation of the product rather than its abilities to charge.

This is the 2nd charger that has overheated and stopped working, This one was dead in less than a week.
In researching the problem, you must pull the charger out of the wall or power-strip anytime it is not being used to charge your tablet.
With as common as a problem it seems to be in reading about it, ASUS either need to place a big warning label or go back and produce it so it doesn't overheat.
It is really disappointing because the tablet is great.

Asus should know better. We need to have a range of power options for tablets, including trickle charging from USB port (don't be fooled by the dual use of the proprietary connector--when plugged into tablet it doesn't seem to provide any charge), car adapters, and cords long enough to reach from the wall outlet to the desk!

Looking forward to 3rd party power options.

ASUS continues to have a problem with its charger. Their customer service is horrendous and it is impossible to get the charger replaced while it is still under warranty. I would never buy another ASUS product again knowing that their customer service is pathetic. The charger heats up and then will not charger the tranformer pad. Good Luck!
