Ade Advanced Optics 515-B beer wort and wine refractometer is for measuring the sugar content of beer, includes an automatic temperature compensation of 10 - 30 degree Celsius. It can replace your hydrometer for easier and more accurate measurements. Simply use the dropper to take a sample of wort and put it on the prism. Then hold the refractometer up to the light and look through the eyepiece. Due to the dual scale, there is no need to convert to specific gravity as the scale measures both Brix and SG.

The device is somewhat lightweight, but with proper care it should last.
I tried putting it back together, but I am left with an unreadable blurred image. It also no longer spins to adjust the focus.
I have taken perfect care of this device; never been dropped; always lives in the hard case; only cleaned with a little water and a soft cloth.
Sadly, I used it less than 10 times.
Hoping this is a fluke and the manufacturer contacts me to remedy the situation.
