Review

“2011 will be remembered as the year of Adele.” ―Anderson Cooper, 60 Minutes

21 was the entertainment world's favorite story of 2011 . . . Adele is not rock-'n'-roll. She is not self-consciously retro. She does not shimmy or shake. Hers is a plant-the-feet-and-belt delivery that has all but disappeared from the pop landscape. It should be deeply uncool. And yet, there is something startlingly refreshing about her youthful elegance and commanding presence . . . Adele transcends all notions of hipness.” ―Vogue

This is a wonderful way to get to know Adele, who is the best female singer I've heard in a very long time (I'm 62). I would recommend this biography to anyone who would like to get to know this talented young lady. The biographer did a wonderful job. I would also recommend her live concert at Albert Hall. I've watched it several times and it's the ultimate!

The book was very interesting. It helps you to understand what a hard start Adele had in her life. It helps to understand
Her feelings after her tough life and also the words to her songs how deep her emotions are and what she has endured.

I'm a HUGE Adele fan and this just made me feel like I became even closer to her and made me realize (which I a;ready knew in interviews that I've watched)that she's so genuine, real and true!! She (Adele) helped me find the strength that I never knew I had and helped me to fall in love with my music again and now I've started writing songs again and will be getting them out there for other people to hear soon. God bless Adele. I would recommend this book to any "Daydreamer"/Adele fan :)

I chose a five star because it reads very authentic in material and interpretation. The down-to-earth, realness of Adele is one of the great character qualities I've found enchanting. She doesn't fabricate her life, nor apologize for the life-style she has chosen to lead. We need honest and open spoken young people in this day and age. Plus, she has a fantastic voice and style I liked from the moment I first heard her sing...I'm from the Ella Fitzgerald era and Etta James, so that dates me...at 75, I'm a great fan of this young woman, and am looking forward to her next album....bet she's also a fantastic "mum" to her little boy!!!!!
