Elegant alongside a cheese tray, the RSVP Classic Cheese Slicer makes perfect slices or shavings of semi soft to firm cheeses. The thin wire easily slices through the cheese while an adjustable roller controls the thickness of the slices. Measuring 7 inches overall, the durable slicer is constructed of chrome plated die cast zinc alloy. Dishwasher safe.

Now on the pules side or at lest for a possible fix. The wire is easily replaceable so rather than sending it back I'm going to stop by a local music store and buy a thinner piece of piano wire with witch I'll replace the wire it came with. I believe this will fix the tearing problem.
The next disappointment was the adjustable thickness guide roller spacing is between 1/4" & 1/2". Who thinks anyone wishes to cut slices so thick? Yes I know that if you tilt the handle just at the perfect angle and hold that perfect angle all the way though the cut you can make any thickness of a slice you'd like. But than I have to ask what is the point of having the spacing adjustable if you have to adjust the angle of the handle to get the thickness right anyway? So the roller adjustment is just a sales gimmick and if you keep this cutter you will most likely set it as close to the wire as it will go and leave it there. As this will allow you to cut any thickness up to 1/4" by angling the handle. Who cuts cheese slices more than 1/4" thick anyway? If you do just use an ax or some other unrefined tool.
My advise is look for one with easy wire replacement and a fix roller guide for less parts that can come a part and get lost.
