Then need to make the screw and body out of something stronger.
The handle was flopping around and falling off upon arrival - a design/manufacture flaw.
The materials were of the poorest quality available to make it look OK, and function in a sup-par way.
The nylon straps, rated for 1000 lbs ??? ;o), are utterly flimsy, so picture and painting frames for starving artists is about all this is good for...
I found this one which seemed to fit the bill for what I needed.
Shipping was fast, and the product seemed pretty nicely made. It was easy to use and had plenty of length on the band for it to work for what I would think are a ton of projects.
I used it to hold the main hull together on the RC boat that I was building right away. Wow. What a difference this product made on the build!! This was the second kit I had built, and the first time I had to keep measuring for square with a triangle, and hope that every other part was actually square. With the strap clamp, I just put it together with some 30 minute epoxy on the ends, adjusted the clamp to hold things the way that they were supposed to, tightened it up so it was snug (but not really tight) and let the hull sit. It came out with PERFECT 90 degree square angles.
I'm really glad I got this. It made the project much easier while also making it come out nicer.
Yes, you do need to treat it gently and stowing it is akward. It works well enough for a hobbyist

This thing is complete trash. All plastic and there is no way it can produce the claimed 1000lbs of clamping power. I wish I could get my money back.Published 4 months ago by Chainpuller
Works extremely well for gluing up picture frames. Length is more than I need now but I'm glad it's there.Published 17 months ago by TF
does not clamp down the frame as tight as I thought it would be... also the corners are made of smooth plastic and they are easy to slip out from what you are trying to clamp....Published 17 months ago by djwannab
I used this to build frames for some canvases I was working on. This product works very well, tightens securely and is easy to adjust.Published 17 months ago by ash
