The wedges and studs from both Manfrotto and Adrorama are interchangeable between the two brand's clamps as well...
meaning i can use a Manfrotto stud in an Adorama clamp
or an Adorama wedge in a Manfrotto clamp and visa-versa
First look online (youtube) someone put a video showing both this and the manfrotto super clamp. As a professional wedding photographer speed and efficiency are mandatory. This clamp, although it works is a bit clumsy and parts don't function as they should.
The small piece triangle shape falls off with complete ease the manfrotto stays on unless you take it off. The safety clip is useless because the stud comes out when you loosen the screw regardless of the safty.
The tightening handle is bigger than the one pictured which is a good thing. All in all it works, some of the extra features don't. I don't have time to worry about falling pieces, i.e. the center piece and stud when not being used or in a tightened position.
I do notice a difference in the build quality, the finish (black paint, you can see the overspray) and the cam-action of the clamping screw- not nearly as smooth as the Manfrotto.
Another note which i think is key- the (un)"grippy" material used in the clamp jaws and the flat insert is NOT really that grippy. It's more of a hard, slick plastic. which is not very cool for something that needs to have GRAB. i feel much more confident with the spongy rubber stuff that Manfrotto uses.
Very sturdy construction.
Con: Pretty heavy due to metal construction, so makes for heavier portable strobist bag.
