She is the award-winning author of non-fiction titles Confessions of a Timid Rider, Adulting with Horses, and Girl Forward: A Tale of One Woman's Unlikely Adventure in Mongolia. Heather is also well known for her blog, The Timid Rider, chronicling her journey as a returning adult equestrian with a lot more curves and a lot more determination.

By day, Heather is a Certified Equine and Canine Sports Massage Therapist dedicated to helping animals holistically. In her spare time, of which she has little, she spends her time with her husband, three children, two dogs, and pony in the wilds of New Jersey. Read this book for a boost in confidence!

I really enjoyed reading this book! I feel like if I ever have a knock in my confidence this book can build me right back up. Wallace was really able to mirror my own thoughts and worries and made me feel perfectly valid for being exactly who I am. Highly recommend reading this book!

Heather opens herself up bravely once again in her newest book, and the reader can often feel as if they are peeking inside her journal as she shares her experiences (sometimes good and sometimes not so good) as a mother, wife, writer, rider, and adult horse owner. This memoir is a hopeful, funny, honest look behind-the-scenes of a woman inspired to be bold while working on her confidence, whether she's in or out of the saddle. Being an adult equestrian, I related to many of Heather's personal joys and struggles as I turned the pages. I am a fan of the author's blog, The Timid Rider, and was happy to be given a copy of this book for review.

Book 2 of the Timid Rider series does not disappoint! Heather writes openly and honestly, and is so relatable for those of us trying to navigate horses and adult life!! I hope there is a Book 3 in the making!

Adulting with Horses is an honest and truthful memoir describing the real-life experiences of an adult amateur equestrian. Heather's experiences are relatable to every rider who has ever straddled the fence between timid and bold while striving to carry on in a manner that is best for both human and horse. Heather does a wonderful job of describing the multi-faceted emotions of horse ownership and riding. I found her latest book to be an engaging, enjoyable, and encouraging read.
