I have only used one of the two cables in the package, and only used it once. i plugged it into the original samsung charger then the tablet. the connections were nice and firm, but i figured it was just because they weren't broken in yet. once the tablet was charged (overnight, turned off), i tried to unplug it. it was REALLY tight. the black plastic cap on the 30-pin end actually came off between my fingers, exposing the wires and metal stuff inside the plug, which was still plugged into the tablet. i had to get needle-nose pliers to remove it from the tablet. thankfully this did not damage my tablet, and since we finally found the original samsung cable (hiding behind my desk), i quit using this cable, because the way it snapped off probably broke at least one of the wires inside the connector, and I don't want to risk frying my tablet because of that. On closer inspection, the clip on one side is barely sticking out of the connector at all, and on the other side, it's sticking WAY out. Not sure if that happened when the cover broke off or if it was always that way, but it certainly isn't good.OK, so the 30-pin connector has actual clips to hold it snapped in, so at least that kind of makes sense that it'd be tight. but USB-A does not, so imagine my surprise when the same thing happened when removing this cable from the charger! yes, the plastic cover came off and the metal USB part stayed in the charger. Again, pliers were needed to remove it.I will be sending these back, buying the overpriced OEM Samsung cable, and a USB extension cable. And my next tablet will use a STANDARD usb charger port - no more of this 30-pin nonsense. On the plus side, it DID charge my tablet. So at least one part worked right...
