Gary Burnison has come up with another highly practical and immediately usable book that possesses the magical qualities of being both counterintuitive (as in "I never would have thought of that") and intuitively correct (as in, "That would probably work"). I have been a fan of Burnison's for some time because he is deeply curious - something that is rare in his profession - and articulate about the hidden in plain sight nuances that make for a successful career. His stories are also great in that are not too brief and not too long and stay relevant to the point he is making. Saul Bellow once advised to "Fe a first class noticer." Noticing is much more active than seeing, looking and watching and Burnison is a first class noticer in what he brings to our attention.
